We travel worldwide and stay in dozens hotels every year. This riad is the best hotel experience we've ever had! The staff showed a rear blend of professionalism and warm welcome you get from a family. Ferdi-the-manager, who is fluent in every European language, arranged our airport transfer, emailed to us immigration forms, and had our meal waiting upon arrival. He welcomed us with mint tea and local sweets, oriented us to the map and answered all our questions. He was always available with an advice, help with dinner reservations, or arrangement for a hammam visit (recommended). Two young assistants, Simo and Ayoub, were simply delightful. They made sure our stay was flawless. Simo greeted us with a big smile at the shuttle drop off and escorted us to the riad. Eager to help, he even shopped with us at a local pastry stand to get us a "friend price". Ayoub, who served us every meal, got up at 3AM to prepare our last breakfast, and then took us to the airport shuttle. At 3:30AM! The riad was gorgeous, immaculate, and authentic. Spacious room and comfortable bedding, with fresh rose petals spread on our bed every day! Food was excellent! Breakfast included a variety of fresh breads and pancakes with jams, butter, yogurt, coffee and tea. A choice of traditional meals was available for lunch and dinner. Riad is in the Old City. Easy walk to all the attractions. if you are a runner, ask Ferdi about nice routes. You will feel like you are taken care of at all times! Enjoy!
Great stay, excellent service
This riad is a jewel! Mariam was amazing she made the best breakfast, mint tea, always happy and such a pleasure to have met her. Luc was wonderful he scheduled our trip to the desert, taxis, and a great place to get a massage. I’m coming back next year to relax and finish seeing the rest of Morocco. There is riad kitty her name is Lundina she is the sweetest and everyone here is very welcoming I truly felt this was my home away from home. Great location to walk to a lot of the sites, go shopping, and just blend in with the locals.
Luc enjoys his job, and in a quietly assured way, ensured that we enjoyed our stay in his Riads. We were met and were delighted by his historic building. The petal strewn bed opened onto a balcony around the central space. Despite some rain and unusually cool temperatures he made sure we were introduced to the gardens and lanes that make this city. He also instructed us on where to change money and how to deal with the friendly traders! Finding space in his nearby Riad where we had been fed when we arrived late in the evening on the first night, Luc offered to move us to a room with large windows that opened onto the atrium. The evening meals were a wonderful introduction to Morrocan cuisine, so well chosen, that only on the lunchtime of our last day did we bother to try elsewhere. Sadly for us the roof terrace - a series of spaces at different levels overlooking the city - was only somewhere to read, because the early February sun was fleeting. For a place to stay where in a couple of turns you were into the food market, it was a delightful haven. Luc arranged for us to enjoy a Hammam and the warm glow engendered by this and the welcome from him and the interesting evening conversations with Abdullah stay with us as we reflect on Marrakesh weeks later at home in England.
This was our first trip to Morocco and we will definitely be back. Luc and his team at the Riad Mjoba made it very special, Luc arranged our transport from the airport and personally met us from the point at which cars cannot travel any further into the medina. He provided mint tea whilst giving us an overview of the City, tips to ensure our safety and enjoyment and a map - he also provided his contact details assuring us he would be available if any problem arose - it didn't, but it was reassuring. The Riad itself was in a residential area, so very authentic, 15 minutes walk from most attractions through the souks. The souks are hectic (!) but the Riad was so peaceful and relaxing with a lovely roof terrace perfect for watching the sun go down. The inclusive breakfast is honestly the nicest I have had with homemade yogurt, crepes and cake alongside fruit, bread and preserves.
From being met at the airport, arriving to mint tea and personally tailored advice as and when you need it they couldn’t be more attentive. An authentic Moroccan Riad with great service throughout your stay. Step onto the street & you’re immediately in the hustle & bustle of the Medina.
As soon as I booked the Riad Mboja, Luc contacted me through Hotels.com. He is very nice and he arranged my transportation from Casablanca to Marrakech. As I was travelling alone, he was very helpful and made me feel comfortable from day one. He always go the extra mile. For instance, I had a problem with my local cellphone and he brought me to a local shop to get it fixed. Later on, he also arranged the 3 days 2 nights Sahara tour for me. Overall, I would definitively recommend his services. His guest house [riad] is well located and is a 10 minutes straight walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa. This is a very beautiful riad, clean with local decoration and features. From the roof top, one can see the beautiful sunset in Marrakech.
Had the most amazing of stays..such an authentic and calm place to escape to after the sometimes hectic streets in the Medina. Lovely roof terrace with amazing views and sunset, where we could enjoy a drink after a busy day. The staff were amazing so kind and helpful and spoke good English. Ferdi the owner was very helpful and was always available.Thank you to Ferdi, Simo, Ayoub, Cederic, Abdelillag, Kawtar and Khadija. Thank you. Will definitely come back.
