Incredibly charming hotel. Quiet, comfortable, with a beautiful garden center. The staff was fantastic; friendly, helpful, engaging--very personable.
Loved the overall atmosphere and regional decor! Great location close to downtown! A rat trap in our room set off alarm bells for us and our travelling companions were shocked to find a rat in the toilet. They were offered and accepted other accomodations. We were assured that this was a one time occurrence! The staff was very apologetic and tried ,unsucessfully to get a refund from Expedia.
This is a charming old Mexico hotel. Very clean and comfortable. You just have to realize that it doesn’t have all the amenities of modern hotels like a pool or refrigerator but who needs that anyway when surrounded by beauty, peace and quiet.
Pros: Beautifully designed and decorated ( loved the courtyard). Staff are friendly, & helpful. Rooms are spacious. Self serve coffee table. Cons: Wi-Fi is terrible ( spotty, speeds are throttled, useless at times). Hot shower water does not work well ( hot for a few minutes then cold). Not having hot water during summer might be okay but not during winter. Toilets don't flush properly ( have to flush multiple times). Rooms are not sound proof ( you can hear your next door neighbor easily). Hope this review helps both owners to make improvements and fellow travelers to make informed decisions. Cheers 🇯🇵
Great location, clean, friendly, decent place to stay!
Great hotel l, staff, location, and condition. They could use a mattress upgrade.
Very nice and safe Hotel and locations. I suggest only to include in rooms a mini fridge. Beautiful colonial style.
A delightful hotel with a very picturesque central courtyard around which, on two floors, are the bedrooms. The hotel is conveniently situated, the receptionist and staff friendly and helpful, the beds comfortable, and the sheets and towels spotlessly white. But, regrettably, there are a couple of drawbacks. At an altitude of over 2000 metres, Patzcuaro can be very chilly even in summer (we were there in July). With the central courtyard completely open to the elements, it means the rooms can become quite chilly. I imagine that in the hotter months (April to June) they can become stiflingly hot. And yet the rooms are not equipped with heaters/aircondioners; guests are required to pay extra for heating. For the same reason, it makes sense to provide in-room tea/coffee making facilities instead of requiring guests to leave their rooms to make refreshments in the chilly courtyard area. Given the small bathrooms, extractor fans would also be beneficial. However, all in all, it’s a lovely boutique hotel and, in spite of my comments, we enjoyed our stay!
Charming, quaint, pleasant, friendly staff, within walking distance to center of Patzcuaro.
Buena atención del personal y muy bonito lugar, pero la cama incómoda y el agua caliente de la regadera no funcionaba bien
