Hotel Universo Guadalajara

It is what it is based on what you pay for is what you get the hotel is older and much harder to keep up with being an older hotel but the sheets were clean the towels were clean and it served it’s purpose for us to stay there overnight with no bugs like other five star hotels that I’ve stayed at where you sometimes encounter bedbugs or other type of rodents.

Everything was great.

The location of the hotel is great, it is walking distance of the Catherdal and shopping. Staff were polite and attentive. However, the hotel is in horrible condition. The rooms were dirty, hair was found on the sheets and cockroaches were crawling on the pillows. As mentioned before the location is great, yet was disappointed how unkempt the rooms were.

The older gentleman at the front desk was very RUDE!!! He did not want to accept my confirmation # that I had written on paper. I told him my phone had died and I could not show him the reservation on the Hotels.com app. He said he could not give me a room without proper confirmation. I explained that my phone had been low on power when I used the app to make the reservation so I wrote down the confirmation # on a piece of paper. We had reserved 2 rooms and they were sold out and I argued and he finally said ok. It was embarrassing to be at the front desk arguing over a confirmed reservation. I gave him my name and he found the 2 reservations!! The room was dirty, hairs in the bathtub, the curtains were torn and hanging open. The air conditioner was loud. The tub had mold on the caulking. We were only given 2 old, torn towels. The furniture was stained. Will not stay there again.
