Umaya Resort & Adventures

The rooms were absolutely fantastic. Right on the beach! The staff was very friendly and kind. Although they are definitely on "Island Time". The food was good but would have liked more seafood and vegan options.

Umaya was absolutely incredible! They have great individuals working there that makes your stay unforgettable! We WILL be coming back to visit good friends that we’ve made and to enjoy the resort again! Please ask for Francisco for the event planner! He is now a good friend of mine and incredible at his job! The entire place is very clean, the most u forgettable individuals working there! Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay! Please come if you are considering!

The excursions were absolutely amazing and the staff was so sweet and helpful. George was one of the highlights of our trip!

Overall, Umaya Resort was wonderful. The staff at the resort are the nicest people I've ever met. They went above and beyond. We got to know a few staff members pretty well, as we were at the resort for 8 days. Shout outs to Lydia, Samara and Imer!!!! The food was AMAZING! The food both on and off the resort was spectacular. We did not have 1 bad meal in Belize. I loved the specialty dinners that the resort held on certain days of the week, such as Beer and Curry night, and Smoke and Sizzle. The food was outstanding! The pool and beach area was great:) The resort could make some improvements with the following: 1. Make the beach towels more accessible. Each time I went to the pool/beach area, I had to go and search for the "pool boy." It sometimes took 20 minutes to receive a towel. Instead, there should be a designated area for towels with someone there at all times. 2. The rooms were big, however, they could be updated. Some of the plaster was off the walls, and there were some strands of hair and a couple of dead bugs stuck to the wall. The furniture could be updated as well. The rooms felt empty due to the small sizes of the furniture and lack of furniture. 3. The gym- I wanted to work out while we were at the resort, however this def needs to be updated. Only 1 of the machines was in working condition, and even then- the screen on the machine didn't work. The workout room is tiny and looks like no one takes care of it. Overall- we had a great experience there!

Great place for a laid back vacation. Clean rooms, property, friendly staff. Stayed here with another couple. Rooms do not have all the described amenities, but if you ask they will fix it. For example, none of our rooms had a microwave, but they brought one after we ask. Some minor, but annoying things like no toilet paper holder in bathroom, little storage, no lotion provided. Great large rooms, wonderful bathrooms with great water pressure. The restaurant is beautiful, but I recommend heading elsewhere for food.The Maya Bistro next door is awesome for breakfast and dinner. Many great options in the village. A big shout out to the skilled ladies from the spa! Took advantage of the free shoulder massage and booked a total of 4 sessions during our stay. Very reasonable priced , super location by the lagoon - just a heavenly experience, worth every penny! We rented a car which enables us to independently drive to Placencia Village, do some excursions by ourselves for a fraction of their price. We did book the Scuba Diving and the Monkey River excursion through Umaya. Both excellent! Very professional operated and enjoyable. Did Xunantunich , Inland Blue Hole and Chocolate Factory by ourselves and saved hundreds of dollars since there was four in our party. Pool and beach beautiful, well kept. Loved the serenity! Kayaks and bicycles are free. Overall a very enjoyable, relaxing vacation.

The property was beautiful and the staff was great. Upon arrival we were given a very warm welcome. The ad states that rooms included hair dryers and microwaves which were missing from the room.

The views from the property were amazing. I can't count the hours we spent just enjoying looking out into the vastness of the lagoon and the ocean. The special events they host were a nice treat, we liked the beer and curry most. Shanice and George were the standouts from an amazing staff. Our room stayed clean and stocked with fresh towels. Just a nice place to stay.

The location was beautiful. It was situated between the lagoon and ocean. The oceanfront was stunning, and the poolside oceanfront bar was great! A couple times when our room was changed over they forgot towels, and one time we received soiled towels. Also, when they were changing bedsheets, the forgot one bed and came back in the evening to complete it, which wasn't a huge deal. It's a 25m and $20 taxi drive into Placencia Village, which wasn't too bad, but if there were more shuttles, that would have been great. Overall, we'd stay there again.

Staying at Umaya was fantastic. The location was tranquil and beautiful. The grounds were inpecably kept. The pool is huge so it never felt over crowded. The beach was lovely and they offer paddle boards and sea kyaks as a courtesy which we enjoyed. The pool bar was great and the menu was yummy. Staff was super friendly and helpful. They room on the ocean side where we stayed was perfect for us with a lovely sunrise view and balcony. The restaurant on the lagoon side is beautiful but super slow in our experience, but that is minor compared to all the wonderful moments of our stay. I highly recommend this place!! loved it and would go back
