Residence Inn Charleston North/Ashley Phosphate

When I checked in I saw 3 staff members none of whom who were wearing their masks property. I had an issue with the soap dispenser in my shower and called the front desk about it so they decided to send someone to my room who also could not figure out how his mask worked and spent a long time fidgeting with the shower so I had to stay out of that area for a while and then wipe everything down after he left. Would have much rather had the little bars of soap ive gotten in every other hotel ive stayed at. The wifi was also terrible, they were running some scam where you pay to get a decent speed which I wasnt about to do. Again over the past 2 months stayed in Charleston 2 other times and the other hotels had no issue offering me decent wifi. Overall I was non plussed. I would say it was the nicest room of the 3 recent stays but my least pleasant stay overall.

The lady at the front desk was very helpful and kind and was the highlight of our stay here. Now, our room was another story the tv didn't work initially it took 3hours to get it fixed and we ended up having to fix it ourself bc maintenance wasn't there and the lady at ther front desk couldn't fix it. Also the cleaning crew never came to our room to clean, remove trash, restock towels, NOTHING. This was a disappointing experience overall. I've stayed at Residence Inns before and my standard for them wasn't even half of my expectation. Also the once we got the tv working it kept showing on the screen as the room being in somebody named kevin name. That is not my name at all so this was again disappointing and concerning in regards to my own personal info potentially showing up in someone else's room.

Hotel was clean and staff was friendly and professional.

It was very clean. It's hard for me to get comfortable in hotels, but not this one. Awesome job!

This is our second stay at this location. It was just as wonderful as last time.

We came to visit with our children for Fathers Day. Check in went nicely. While getting settled into our room, a big Palmetto aka waterbug came running out. Killed it and notified the front desk. Maintance came in and sprayed around baseboards. About an hour later another bug came running out. We eent to make the sofa bed and were missing pillows and had to go personally downstairs to get them. Stepping off the elevator the lobby was full of very loud people drinking and playing music very loud. Children were running all over the place, pushing the elevator buttons and just no supervision. Upon speaking with the manager the next morning...her only comment was "Well I can't watch everyone all the time". My response was "No but your staff can". I have stayed at this location several times, and each time it gets a little worse.

It was great. The room was awesome. the staff were very knowledgeable and super nice.

The property was very nice, and appealing; however the customer service didn't match. The lady at the front desk seemed as if she had an attitude, and it hurt to smile. The room was nice. After checking other reviews, I can say I didn't see any roaches or bedbugs. Everything was clean. TV does have an HDMI hook-up, but you need to make sure that you hook your cables to the box connected to the TV; not the TV itself. The reason this didn't score a higher score would be the breakfast. It's great that it's offered, but it's very mediocre. I've stayed in other Residence Inns in the past, and it just seems like this one is missing something. If I come back to Charleston, SC this hotel will be on my list of options, but I will be be checking other places first.
