Swissôtel Kursaal Bern

The location of Hotel Allegro is perfect because the Tram 9 stops right in front, making it a convenient location if you arrive by train or public transportation to Bern. We stayed for one night after a long day of international travel and the staff was so accommodating. They even left a birthday cookie and card in our room because we had told them in a message prior to arriving that we were celebrating my birthday on this trip. We were starving and decided to go to the casino where there was still an open restaurant inside and since we were hotel guests we did not have to pat to go in the casino and we even got a free drink. The terrace on the fifth floor and entrance to the casino is great, it has a beautiful view of the city. The hotel reservation includes a free pass to use public transportation in Bern during your stay. Even though the breakfast is not included, we still decided to eat there before leaving in the morning because it was so convenient and the buffet was great with a lot of options for food and drinks. I would recommend this hotel in Bern.

Aircon in room doesn't work - makes for a hot night

Location is excellent, bed was comfortable. Super clean. They gave us city public transportation access card for free that covers the duration of our stay. staff were very nice.

This hotel is off the beaten path and not really in the city of Bern. It is close by bus which stops right in front of the hotel. We were stoked that the air conditioner actually worked. Really important on a hot day. The hotel itself was spacious and modern. But I did not expect it to be in a casino (at least it seemed that way).

This is a beautiful hotel with the closest access to the castle. I was much more than I expected. My room appeared brand new with a modern architectural design and had a small porch with a view of the smaller castle. The breakfast was excellent too. Highly recommended!

We were skeptical about the hotel because it includes a casino, and we don’t gamble. The building is unattractive when viewed from the old city. Thank being said, we were pleasantly surprised by the comfort, restaurants, staff friendliness and ease of hopping on the tram to the old city.

We spent a night on our honeymoon at the Hotel Allegro. We requested a room with a view of city which from the third floor provided a wonderful vista of the rooftops of old Bern. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The staff were polite and extremely accommodating.

Great hotel. Tram station just outside - 5 minutes to train station. Make sure to book a room with mountain view and balcony. I stayed a week and I will return next time.

Decent facility at excellent location. With the complementary city transport card, Route 9 tram takes you anywhere in Bern or you can walk across the bridge in front of the hotel to arrive at the center of the old town.
