Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya All Inclusive

The hotel was great everyone was very friendly from the cleaning ladies the workers, bartenders, servers, pool staff. The staff is constantly cleaning to keep the facilities clean especially during covid. big shoutout to Zitlali she was very friendly and always had an upbeat attitude!!! The bartender in the main lobby bar making the margaritas was great forgot his name!!! The shows in the evening were great the staff puts so much effort into them. my favorite restaurants would have to be the steakhouse ,Japanese, and Mexican. Some of the facilities were closed but that’s understandable due to covid. I was just happy to get away and get great service. Have been to Mexico 7 times and it never disappoints!!!!! Will be returning to iberostar again.

The property was large and lovely. We came right after hurricane zeta so they were always busy cleaning up debris. The staff was very friendly. Our only disappointment was that we could only get into the restaurants one night out of 5. Two nights, Halloween and Daybof the Dead were buffet only. This was quite a disappointment since we already had the buffet twice and it does not really rotate it’s options. We did do a massage on the beach which was fantastic. Overall we loved the restaurant and would love to come back when all properties are open. (Due to COVID).

Stuff has been trying to keep the rooms clean. The rooms are pretty old and worn out. Alcohol was cheap and bad quality. Check in people lied and asked to pay them cash for a room upgrade. Bartenders tried to pour cheaper alcohol if you ask for something more expensive.

This is a large property and wasn't at capacity so there was always a chair to be had by the pool. It was a little tougher at the beach, however. Large rooms, not many with a view of anything but the surrounding trees but that didn't bother us. Some restaurants were great (Japanese & steakhouse), some were good (American grill, buffet) and some were to be avoided (Mexican, Italian). There isn't anything nearby the resort and their "shopping mail" is still closed due to COVID, so if you want to shop be prepared to spend at least $50 roundtrip for a taxi.

The resort was wonderful we lived out room, had a lot of things going on at the resort. lots of places to eat we loved there food the buffet and the dish selection at some of the restaurants. They had several bars at the resort great drinks lived tge Pinacolada yum!! I would go back the there resorts.

This hotel had it's moment, but that since passed. I don't understand how it continues to receive 5-stars and I'm a generous person. It's only saving grace is the hospitality of its workers. All the restaurants are below average except for the Japanese and Steak house. The room service is not good. It's the food... it's sketchy. The pool is nice. It's huge! The rooms are in need of a major renovation. Our room in particular was stale when we arrived (AC was not working) and the sinks were clogging (a problem with the drain). They fixed the issues, but it's a bad way to start the vacation. The gym is only open from 6 - 11 am. Honestly, even the most basic hotels in the US have gyms open longer. Another issue, the hotel is huge and everything is spread out. If you want to eat breakfast, you walk like 20 mins. Then you walk 20 mins to the bar, and then 20 mins back to the room, and then 30 mins to the beach... it's huge. They have carts, but then you wait 20 mins for it. In other big resorts, they tend to have multiple options available in different parts. So breakfast is served in various areas so that people can access. I think this hotel has some promise if they would completely renovate it. They're actually building a water park so I guess they're starting down the path. There is a Star Camp for kids that comes included that my little ones absolutely loved! That was awesome. I had to take them out kicking and screaming. Finally, the drinks are lame.

hotel was dirty, pools were moldy, room ac and fridge both were barely working. food was sub par from what we have had at this resort in the past

We stayed at this property for years ago and the food went down hill. Too many beach vendors. Too much noise on the beach with several people playing loud music plus the entertainment from the hotel.

This location is very beautiful as far as entertainment and views, BUT very poor customer service. I came here for the first time with my cousin and we were overlooked, we hardly ever got asked if we wanted any drinks whether we were by the pool, beach, or night shows. The workers were making me feel like I was dumb by making me repeat myself every time I asked a question, they had a direct attitude like they didn’t want to interact much, I would ask them a question and they would barely even want to answer it. I would ask for a ride to the lobby or room and the guys driving would always either make a face or hardly say yes to providing the ride , overall the workers aren’t in a working spirit or maybe I’m too used to professional resorts in Cancun where the quality and quantity is GREAT.

I was very impressed with the resort and how they are handling all the extra precautions. I felt safe at all times, and the staff was incredible. The beach was absolutely amazing as well, probably the best beach at any resort I stayed at in Mexico. Every morning to clean the sea weed from the sand in the ocean itself on the beach is completely free and clear, it was amazing. I would definitely stay here again.
