Hotel Kirchbuehl

The hotel gave my Wife and I a complimentary upgrade with a beautiful view from our balcony! Only drawback is that when we have requested for a kettle to boil water, there wasn’t given and house keeping could do a better job at cleaning.

Hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming with the exception of an older woman who worked breakfast. She was not pleasant and made us feel like we were bothering her. The rooms were nice but the bathroom could use a renovation. We ate dinner at the hotel one evening and it was exceptional- both the service and the food.

Staff was excellent, restaurant great, view from the room superb and the bed very comfortable. It was a very pleasant stay.

The most beautiful view from a hotel balcony I have ever seen. I sat for 2 hours with a coffee just staring at the vista.

This was one of the best hotel and travel experiences ever! Food at hotel was incredible, gorgeous views, friendly staff, just fabulous.

The rooms are dingy and the walls are paper thin. You can hear every sound in the hall and in the rooms next door. There was a repetitive clicking sound during all three nights of my stay. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and the rooms have no air conditioning. There were many issues during my stay. Firstly, the cleaning person did not come to clean my room the first day. Worse still, on the second morning of my stay, someone opened my hotel room door with a card key. I don’t know who it was as they ran off and I was still in bed. I called down to the front desk to report this, and they told me that they can’t “undo what has been done.” They repeated this line to me multiple times after each issue I spoke to them about, which frankly added to my frustration. The hotel restaurant would also not accommodate my requests for a dairy-free meal and overall there seemed to be miscommunication between the staff which made it difficult to arrange shuttle transport to and from the train station. Lastly, contrary to their advertisements, they do not help you access local day hikes. I presented these complaints during my stay and at check out and the managerial staff spent more time telling me I spoke English to quickly than apologizing for all these issues in my stay. There are plenty of hotels in the area, stay away from this one.

Guided Walk-thru of the Eiger Deluxe Plus Suite, impressive view of the mountains during sunset/sunrise and throughout the day, enjoyed the snow covered cityscape using the wrap-around balcony. Perfect location to setup the time lapse camera and tripods to take perfect mountain night shots. Complimentary mini-bar and fresh fruit basket setup, we particularly enjoyed the dates. The family enjoyed the cake hour where we sat near a nice fire drinking cappuccino and listening to the pop and crackling of the fire. A perfect place to relax, unwind and recharge. I suggest you bring some bath bombs when you stage in this deluxe plus suite. A double set of blackout shades are provided in the room; however, we enjoyed leaving the shades open to let in the moon and starlight reflecting off of the three mountains. Breakfast was true to European standards, I always love eating salmon in the morning along with a wide variety of cheese and other assortments. Dinner is quite the experience. Try the Whiskey flamed skewers. When they advertise high-speed internet, it is truly high-speed internet that ranges from 60 - 80 Mbps the only other hotel chain that came close to this speed was a Marriott in Kuwait capping out at 40 Mbps. Overall, I am impressed with this family ran Hotel having visited many hotels in my 22 years of government service. We will come out here again during the Spring and Summertime to enjoy the hiking experiences and to see the city in full bloom.
