Hotel Arcangelo

The hotel is small and close to the Vatican. It's located in a maze of streets so you can go in any direction and find what you want. The staff are few and very hard workers! All are kind and helpful. The front desk employees speak good English and give solid guidance. I like the breakfast buffet in particular -- a great way to start each day!

The location is great. It’s just far enough away from the crazy busy spots to be peaceful, but it’s still close enough to walk to or take a short Taxi ride to all the must see monuments. There are some great restaurants nearby. The building itself seems kinda old, but this ads to it’s charm. There is not a conventional lobby where guests can sit near the main entrance. So when waiting for cars or taxis, we usually had to wait outside. However, because of location the longest we had to wait for a taxi was usually about 5 minutes. There are some nice seating areas on the lower level where breakfast is served. As a bonus, the rooftop terrace is a nice place to relax, especially at night. The room was small but cozy and the AC worked great. The lift only fits 1-2 people at a time and the stairs are quite steep. Majority of the staff is super friendly, with a few exceptions, but this is the case with most places. Everyday the room was cleaned and we were given fresh towels. I loved this because after all that exploring during the day it was nice to come back to a clean room and a nice shower so that we could rest up for the next day. Breakfast is a decent spread, but it is the same everyday. So if you are there for a long period, it can get boring. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. We would probably stay there again if we go back to Rome.

Arrived late and there was sand and dirt in the sheets. Told the desk clerk about it, he gave us sheets to remake the bed ourselves. Carpet was so disgusting we would not take our shoes off for fear of sticky stuff. We took pictures and sent them to Hotels.com saying we would not be staying the following 4 nights and would not pay for those nights. The hotel would not refund all of the reservation keeping $151.00 for one night since we got in too late the first night to cancel by midnight the night before. I will be disputing the charge. It was a horribly dirty room, floor was all stained everywhere, not just a couple stains here and there and the sofa was beyond description of gross!!

Very nice hotel in a Fantastic location! Very close to many major attractions in the heart of Rome. Lovely rooftop terrace with a view of St. Peters' Basilica, helpful staff and tasty breakfast. The rooms are on the small side and in need of touching up, with very dated wallpaper and in our case a shower head very clogged with calcium deposits. Overall a very nice stay and amazing location, I would definitely consider staying here again.

The property was not well maintained and the staff was ride. Additionally, parking was terrible and wifi did not work. We'll never stay there again and recommend you do not.

Just a totally, totally beautiful hotel. The location is just perfect for seeing the Vatican and related tours. Close enough to the historical center of Rome with the Colosseum, etc. The rooms are amazing, large and decent views. There is an open rooftop terrace to die for. Gorgeous! You can see the dome of St.Peter’s Basilica! There is a complimentary breakfast in the morning that beats a lot of restaurants! It is more than croissants ... so good! For Rome.... a nice little place with a place to park so your car doesn’t get broken into (good chance) The staff was helpful and welcoming. Compared to other European countries...it’s Italy
