Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Texas City

No cleaning room , house keeping told us that they don’t clean overnight stay , while we were at Austin Holiday inn Express they did but not here at Texas City , breakfast you get what you get don’t throw a fit - in Austin you had options. gazillion of any in parking lot have to hurry unload and load still got bitten by ants - I just check out and ask for a receipt she said Y’all would be sending receipt ? Hum ?

We enjoyed our stay at the Texas City Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites very much. The hotel was very clean and peaceful. I was very disappointed with the offerings for breakfast, however. "Due to Covid-19" the breakfast bar is closed. The food is pre-packaged and put under a heat lamp. The cereal is placed in a bowl (dry) and covered with plastic wrap.... just add milk. The egg (omelet) was put on a plate with a biscuit and meat. The egg and the biscuit were touching the meat. For a non-meat eater, this was not a happy sight. Needless to say, we "paid" for a breakfast that we could or would not eat.

Nice room, hot breakfast (kudos for the effort this day and age! ) and helpul staff.

Kelly was not very happy every time we would ask something and would have an attitude always. Overall everything else was amazing.

Upon arrival. My husband and I wiped everything down with our Lysol Disinfectant wipes and sanitized the room with our disinfectant spray because we’re mindful of the current Pandemic. Upon wiping down our room, I discovered what appeared to be wood chips. At 1st glance I thought someone had drilled a hole in the cabinet/ drawers possibly and just failed to vacuum it up. I could have overlooked that 100%. But then, upon preparing to take a shower, I realized that the restroom had not been swept or moped. This caused me to inspect our room further. Sure enough, the crumbs on the floor that I assumed were wood chips, were actually food crumbs! The foyer had not been swept or moped either. There was hair visible throughout the tiled foyer and the bathroom! The bedding had yellow stains on it, and hair throughout the sheets and pillows. It was very disgusting. I called the front desk and without hesitation, the gentleman quickly offered to change our room. The 1st room he showed us smelled and looked horrible. The 2nd room was even worse. Because our stay was nonrefundable, we were stuck. So I informed the gentleman that we would just keep the room were given. So, we completed another round of wiping and disinfecting the entire room. The Front desk person vacuumed our room and granted my request for more sheets and pillowcases so we could change our linen. I will never book there again.

The property looked amazing. It was always clean and the staff was readily available to assist with anything needed.

It was a nice weekend getaway with friends from work shopping eating swimming n more shopping
