Sandos Playacar Select Club Adults Only- All inclusive

The service was ridiculous to start off the food was horrible cold and very unorganized . We got stuck on the elevetor for more than 1 hour with no phone access to call for help finally received help after 45 minutes till they were able to open it .. then asked for room service and ordered a club sandwich they took 2 hrs just to bring it to my room after I went to the lobby and complained that they said they had forgotten to place my order

Likes - Front desk staff very helpful, Room service staff delivering the food was helpful, VIP Bar service outstanding and clean, Cup- Cake shop staff helpful, Bicycle staff very kind, Bell desk very helpful, some buffet staff very kind and helpful, grill chief very helpful and does a great job, Mexican takeaway place very helpful, Guest services very helpful. Things didn't like - Property grounds very poorly taking care of- need to be cleaned, Palm trees, bushes, plants need to be trimmed, and cleaned. Trash containers need to be pick up. Trash containers by the adult pool/walking out to the beach 3 days of trash was piled up. Beach chair area for VIP need to be cleaned up, cups need to be picked up, chairs need to be straighten every night, Pool bar need better service and add more staff, plus cocktail winterers need to be provided by the VIP area. They all want to upgrade you or sell you Royal Elite but with all of things need to be taken care of I would never purchase a Royal Elite. House keeping need to do a better job cleaning the rooms at check in. Our room was not cleaned thoroughly. Had to call guest services for them come upon check in to come back and clean the room, they also need to look at if things are not working properly in the room to call engineering and get it fixed prior to guest checking in. I had call three times to have a shower room light bulb changed, and cable to be fixed. Things around the property that are broken need caution cones.

This was my fifth visit to Cancun and by far it’s been the worst place I’ve stayed at. We understand our visit was during COVID but that doesn’t excuse the subpar experience we had. To begin, of the five or more known restaurants, only three were open and only at night which meant the rest of your meals had to be done through room service or at the buffet. The buffet was below mediocre at best as the food was bland and the selection very limited. Their breakfast and lunch options remained the same throughout the five days we were there and some of the food felt and tasted like it was days old. The restaurants that were open had decent food but were always packed so we didn’t end up eating until 9-10pm at night, and that was with reservations. The room had an old closed in space, even when we left the door open. The decorative pillows on the bed had a strong urine smell and the three remaining pillows were strategically placed to cover a semen stain on the headboard. The hotel only provides shampoo, body wash and a bar of soap so it’s best practice to bring your own toiletries. Service was a hot and miss as some staff were nice and others barely assisted you. We got a massage and facial done which both were good. However, the following day I woke up with my entire face covered in breakouts due to the products they used despite me telling the staff completing my facial that I had sensitive skin. We loved the beach, one of the best beaches we’ve been to.

The scenery and staff were magnificent. I will return.

The room had mold in the walls and in the sheets. The food was poor quality.

I stood in adult side. Pros: The beach area is absolutely stunning, the water is clear, no seaweed. The hotel grounds are beautiful. I absolutely loved the howling monkeys that come to visit in the mornings, the angouti around the property, the lemurs that loved the fruit I was feeding them, the rescued donkey, and the property kitty. The actual restaurant food (not buffet) was pretty delicious. Hot water was great. Cons: the smell in room of mildew was awful. My friend asked to change her room and her room was much better with no smell. The AC was not working properly, I called every day and they sent a repairman every day, with no luck in the repair ever. Limited amounts of golf carts to take you to and from front, and front is a far walk, my friend is also pregnant. The buffet food was terrible. Hard to get reservations for minimal daily restaurants they have open. They had no entertainment while we were there, only on last day. The drinks are tasty, but did not get a buzz no matter how many I drank. Check-in staff was not very pleasant. All in all the price is good, I would go back. I would just make sure my room is better, and make sure to make dinner reservations days ahead.

Beach amazing! Food horrible. No good wine and lack of name brand alcohol! Room was comfy! No shows or entertainment ;( and coffee didn’t open until 8 and wasn’t a Starbucks;)

Beach and pool were great. Nice weather and quiet .

I like it for its service and the kindness of its staff

Liked the beach and pools.Did not like the fact that half the restaurants were closed and needed reservation to go. Also restaurants kept running out of items on the menu. Also many of the bars were closed or way under staffed.
