Mattress was horrible.
The room was had ‘dank’ , mildew feel to it. The air too forever to cool off the room and by forever, I mean hours. The next day it was a little cooler outside and we attempted to use the heat. After raising the temp up to the 80s, we found out that the hotel does not have heat. I know I reside in Florida but I have never been to a hotel where they just didn’t have heat. So they gave us a short, not warm, thin blanket...just one to keep warm. While I stayed in a non-smoking, the room next door apparently was not. I woke at 815 to the strong smell of cigarette smoke through the door closest to the bed. I was unable to go back to sleep due to the smell and I’m an asthmatic. The bathroom and shower were not freshly cleaned as there were strands of hair on the wall and in the bathtub when I got into it. Needless to say, I will not be returning to the Country Inn & Suites in Vero Beach. The pictures online are also quite deciding as to what this particular hotel rooms looked like.
We had a spacious room with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Its in a great location with easy access to outlet shopping, Cracker Barrel, and I95. Additional shopping and dining is only minutes away on Hwy 60.
We usually stay at this location whenever we come to Vero Beach and have usually had superb accommodations. This time, however, the accommodations were less than subpar. We only had 3 pillows, which were horrible. There was a shortage of toilet paper, which was blamed on the pandemic. We were asked if we had tissues and was told “at least you have tissues” when we said we didn’t have toilet paper, but had tissues. The electricity went out once. Thankfully, we were only there for two nights this time, versus our normal week long stay.
Poor customer service. Check in staff made no eye contact, was very short with me, cut me off when I asked about wifi, and generally very unpleasant. Room was not turned over between days. Power was out in the morning and breakfaat was not extended (kids were disappointed). Corridors reeked of marijuana. Room was clean-ish? Marginally better than a motel. I now understand why my stay was so inexpensive. I am not one to leave poor reviews, it was just a very disappointing experience. Our last stay with this chain was a night and day difference.
When we checked in our room had been given away so the wonderful clerk said she would like to comp our room. Yet when we checked out the morning person rudely told me that he would not.
The pictures look great! But when I walked into the room it smelled musty and it was not pleasant. Found hairs on the bathroom floor. Needless to say , we ended up leaving!!!!
Beds are lumpy. Bathroom was not clean. Had black hairs in sink and on towel laying on tub with the soap packet.
Room wasn’t the cleanest, bed not comfortable, no pillows for sleeper couch, just to name a few. I only stayed because they are pet friendly.
Buliding was clean and neat , staff wa as nice and accommodating. Booked early enough .. check in was at 3 and we got there around 5ish and we had to wait for the room to be cleaned . Went out to dinner came back to a dark room flipped on the lights and there were German Roches everywhere all iver the night table with the fridge and microwave and in the bathroom crawling on the door . We told the lady at the front desk and all she did was report it to her manager the next morning , she was nice to get us two extra pillows . The Manager in the morning wanted to refund our stay but he couldnt because i booked it with this site . He said i needed to get a hold of someone with customer service let them know whats going on and have them call the hotel so the manager can refund me ... ?
