New Years Eve in Cozumel

Pros & Cons to this hotel The room it self was clean overall. The entire property needs some attention to certain areas. Our room was nice except the curtain to balcony was covered in mold on the back side. But beds were comfortable and room was very clean otherwise. Nice bathrooms but getting towels was difficult. 1 of our balcony chairs was broke along with 2 other rooms that had friends had had balcony chairs that needed replaced as well. The pool was nice but the furniture outside cushions were in need of replacement. The beds that are by the pool no one would lay on as the cushions were black underneath. No coffee pot in room so purchased our own as it was $2.00 to go get coffee each morning from little place next door so easier and cheaper to buy own and leave behind. Nice quiet location and easy to grab a taxi and get where we wanted to go with much ease. So lots of conveniences to the property.

Property grounds were beautiful. Our room, although clean, needed serious updating and maintenance. Our room was way in the back of the resort, those by the pool upfront looked more modern and updated. The staff couldn’t be nicer and more helpful. When reported about different items that needed fixed, they were prompt to respond. The food in the little restaurant was good and affordable. In all, it was affordable and convenient.

This place has a great location, walk distance to many places. It’s very clean, the rooms are bigger and better than the pictures show it. The down size is that the beach across the street is pretty rocky and no lounge chairs. The breakfast is simple: bread, fruit, egg, coffee and juice.

This is a nice little hotel, old time flavor to it. I felt I got good value for what I paid and will remember this hotel for future reference. The room is basic, but I really only needed a bed and shower, the TV and fridge made it a little more adequate. When I first got there, the fridge was not cooling. They quickly replaced it. I did have an issue, that did not affect my vacation. Expedia showed this resort as having breakfast included. When I went down, I was told I needed to get a ticket from the front desk. They told me I did not have that included. I contacted Expedia, who tried to sort it out for me, but the bottom line, it wasn't included. Oh well, in the whole scheme of things, it's not ruining my vacation, but I did ask expedia to remove the advertised "breakfast included). I'd walk into town and get some fruit or munch on snacks in the room. 4 days left of my vacation and I walk to the front desk to inquire about a covid test and get the info. The guy at the front desks asks if I want my breakfast coupon! It seems I get breakfast now! Okay, so I go to breakfast and order scrambled eggs. I get easy over. Every day this happens. Language barrier I was not able to overcome, even when pointing at the words on the menu. I like easy over, not gonna ruin my day. I also asked for grapefruit fruit, same thing, ended up with OJ, which was fine. I might get silverware, LOL!!! They have awesome burgers!!!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Monica was a wonder at the front desk - nice to have someone who speaks English so well and showed us a number of rooms till we had just what we wanted. Will return at another day. Only thing that needs work is the tennis court net wasn't even close to the proper height. Didn't really matter since it was so hot and humid that we didn't play at all. Hotel is directly across the road from the ocean so its a quick walk to the sea for some snorkeling or swimming. Breakfast is complimentary but the tickets were handed out like they were bank notes with all sorts of stamps and procedure. Totally stupid. Food was good.

I have been to this property many times over the years and have always love everything about it but this time has been notably different. The restaurant was understaffed....slower than hell. If you have it on the menu the expectation is you can make it...really missed the last proprietor..food was not good, had dirty silverware and we found other options. Housekeeping and groundskeepers were great! Front desk was ok but should be much more knowlegable in regards to ferry scheduling. Gentleman in dive shop was excellent and went out of his way for me it made my day. We paid very good money for the Penthouse suite it was awesome but very Outdated! No spoons in kitchen area. Outside deck is fabulous but why paint the beautiful terra cotta roof tiles gray is beyond me took away the charm of the building. After many visits would i come back ....maybe
