Holiday Inn Express & Suites Camarillo

I liked the cleanliness and the room space was great! Definitely would recommend!

The hotel fire alarm went off in the night. Guests went outside to the parking lot. After the alarm stopped a guest went inside to see what was wrong. It was a false alarm. There was no staff interaction. No staff explanation. I understand things might happen, but they could’ve at least made an announcement and not had us standing outside in the middle of the night wondering, and to let us know we can go back inside. I know the hotel is fairly new to have been remodeled, but even with a mask on walking through the halls, it smelled like a sewage issue.

The hotel is driving distance from many shopping centers and located near fields AKA quiet location

We were right behind the elevator in room 315, couldn’t sleep because of all the noise of the elevator going up and down. Bed was very uncomfortable, water on floor and no one knows where it came from. Otherwise it was fine.

Very bad the front desk denied to change the room for us, we was very close to the elevator, too much noise, I couldn't sleep. Floor was dirty since you enter to the hotel, also l saw couple silver minnows in the room

Well the check process was pretty straight forward, the room we selected we were told that it wasn’t available. Once that got settled we walked into our room and honestly it wasn’t the cleanest room at all we had to go buy disinfectant wipes to wipe everything in the room and the restroom lest say it was disappointing. There was black mold on the walls and ceiling of the shower , the sink was a bit dirty and they left used toilet paper in the rest room. The tissue was well let’s say it looked like it was stuffed back in the box. So over all the quality of the room was poor , I didn’t feel like the room was clean and specially since this pandemic that we are facing I didn’t feel like the room was clean enough to make me feel safe. When I called down to the front desk to ask to change rooms I was told that there was no more rooms available and even though I looked around to see if another hotel had available room we were told that most hotels were booked already. If it wasn’t cause I was there for work I would had left the hotel. Pretty bad experience over all.

Clean and comfortable

We had a very wonderful experience staying at this property. It's very clean, modern and comfy. We were so impressed with the furniture and layout so we went online to their corporate website and found out that they recently went through a company transformation to modernized/standardized the operations for their properties across the U.S (or maybe globally?). They definitely listened to their customers!!!! The room is big with a lot of counter spaced and outlets for all the modern gadgets we have. Instead of having small plastic bottles for shower gel, shampoo, and conditioners, they use the big bottles and locate them securely on the wall. I can also tell you that the products don't feel cheap either. It only takes 15 minutes to get to the beach/harbor by accessing the freeway close to the hotel. They offer a good breakfast which I appreciate it very much! They have staff in an isolated area with food, you walk up to the "counter" and let them know what you want, they pick the food for you, put them on the plate and you take it away. How nice! If you are in the area, I highly recommend this property. I think I will want to stay in Holiday Inn more going forward!
