The Academy Hotel Colorado Springs

I have stayed in dozens of hotels within the park few years and the experience I have gotten from this one was by far the best. The friendliness of the staff, the overall cleanliness of everything during covid and the precautions were over the top. Would recommend staying here to anyone and will definitely be back soon.

The hotel room was outdated. The bathroom was not entirely clean. The walls are paper-thin and you can hear everything going on in the Next Room to include hearing the people on the phone. Rooms not well insulated so heater run Non-Stop which is fine if you like to sleep with a fan on cuz that's all you hear. I would not recommend this hotel.

Our stay was good overall, except for the doors not being sealed in our wing. It was very cold and drafty. Our breakfast was cold too.

Room needs renovation. Rooms are old and falling apart. The hotel is dark and needs a makeover. There’s ways of doing this without closing the hotel. If you want to compete in this area of business you need to do the things that make you competitive.

Very clean! Staff was helpful and friendly, and great amenities with the Falcons bar and grill inside the hotel with amazing food. And the view of the mountains from our room topped it all off. 100% would stay again next time in Colorado Springs.

This place had filthy carpets, rusty vents, moldy and musty heaters on the wall that we had to turn off completely in below freezing temps outdoors to avoid breathing it in, one airplane quality blanket in the closet and no blankets on the bed so we were freezing, furniture was chipped and the upholstery was dirty, dirt and dust everywhere, wall socket plates broken off, the window was like boarded up with a broken frame and a pull down blind that was taped around the frame so it couldn’t be opened, the bathroom was dirty, the doors and corridors leading to the room had deteriorated and peeling paint, we had to have our temps taken when we came in which made us concerned that there had been Covid cases in the facility beforehand as we have stayed at dozens of hotels in the last three months and we have never had to do this before and the same concern about the information about putting our belongings in a safety deposit box and not to leave anything valuable in our car. We checked in at midnight and checked back out at 2:00 a.m. We had to sleep in our car after that because we couldn’t book a hotel online until the next day. We were exhausted and had just come from a family funeral and we just wanted a place to rest. Instead we got a hotel from hell! I can’t begin to imagine how this hotel got a “FABULOUS” rating!

Side doors are locked and I had to carry my children all the way around, which made it super difficult. Water would not drain from the tab. No oatmeal for breakfast for kids. Kids were hungry every morning. Pool is not for kids. Otherwise it was OK for the money.

We had a tough time sleeping since the guest next door had TV too loud until 4:00am called front desk and it took them another 30 minutes to made them turn volume down
