Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore

I stayed in room 508. Woke up at 4am to go to the bathroom and it was 2 big roaches, one on the floor and 1 in the sink....a little freaked out, I killed them then got back in the bed but couldn’t fall asleep after that. An hour late I see ANOTHER roach on top of the TV. I jumped up, killed it then called front desk. Front desk changed my room and sent house keeping up to the room. I made SURE to leave the dead bug on the dresser for them to see!!! And I have pictures of EVERYTHING!!!! I can say the staff handled the situation immediately!!! They went pleasant and accommodating. But after seeing 3 roaches I was COMPLETELY uncomfortable for the rest of the weekend!!!

Our room was very nice with lots of room. Bed was very comfortable. They are stingy with their in room coffee. We were only allowed 3 single serve packets for 2 people. Both of us drink coffee in the morning so it was a pain. We would have to get dressed and go to the second floor to get coffee in the morning. Beware they are remodeling so unloading is a little bit of a mess. Also if you are looking for a peaceful day by the pool that’s not going to happen right now cause they are working on the concrete with jack hammers and their food area above you. With that said you don’t hear them in your rooms. I wish they would serve breakfast past 9. Not everyone is there on business and getting up early. All and all it is still a nice place to stay and it will be great when it’s done. They have to remodel sometime so just be understanding if you are staying there.

First up add $15 to your room rate in order to park. Check in went well till I tried to get to my room. Only one elevator out of 3 was working. Combine that with a covid occupancy limit and you end up waiting for an elevator forever. Breakfeast the next morning was a dumpster fire. Only machine coffee and a small box of stuff better feed to birds. So I asked for a just a bottle of water. Sorry we don't have any water!

The staff was friendly and the property is under construction so somethings are to be expected. But the parking gagrage was damp, not well it, and you had to walk outside to get back to the hotel(rained when we got there). I expected better from the hotel. Not staff to get us more towels, bed covers were very thin and bed was extremely firm.

The room was very comfortable and large. (715 sq was the reason I choose this room). With the kitchen kind extra space, it made us more organized and functional. We stayed 7 nights here and we were happy. The only thing we did not like was the room AC unit was very noisy. We have to tune off the AC generator when sleeping.

After booking on the hotels.com app I called to let the hotel know we would be checking in late after a full day at Busch Gardens. I also asked they note a late checkout if possible since we were checking in around 10 p.m. at Check in they charged me for 3 nights even though I only booked 1 night. The front desk staff had to run a refund. The room was clean & nicely updated. Unfortunately they put us into a room directly beside the elevator. The noise wasn’t horrible, just annoying. Once in the room there was only 2 towels for 5 of us. Mot only had a booked the room for 5, I mentioned it at check in. I called the front desk & was told at 10:30 p.m. they would have to find more towels. They called back close to 11 p.m. stating they had no help & we would have to come down to the front desk to get the 3 additional towels. I went down immediately and they had already given 1 of my 3 towels to another guest. So, 4 towels for 5 people who had spent 11 hours at Busch Gardens. After check in we asked about breakfast, we were told it is “served” between 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. I woke up my wife & 3 kids at 8:30 a.m. and dragged them down to breakfast. Nothing was set up so we went to the front desk. We were then handed 5 boxed breakfasts. What?!? I woke everyone up for this?!? Totally ridiculous.

The front desk staff was incredibly helpful and friendly in fixing things like lack of towels or coffee in our room. The area was not what I expected and when alone I did not feel safe. Seems to be a large homeless community in the area.

I really liked our stay. We were visiting a friend. The location to them is close. Clean and very nice. Staff were very nice and practice social distances. I plan on stay here for now on while our friend takes care of his father.

Clean. Everyone was beyond beyond helpful. Can’t recommend enough
