Residence Inn by Marriott Indianapolis Airport

This was probably a nice hotel when it was first built but the rooms were dated and had stains on carpet, etc. The smoke alarm was hanging off the ceiling. The biggest problem was the neighborhood...it is really rough.

What I liked: The front desk clerk who checked us in was very nice. What I didn't like: The roaches. When I first got there, I saw a bug crawling and killed it. It looked like a roach, but I thought it had wings. So, I just thought it was a random bug that crawled in from outside. But no, it wasn't. We went to get food later and when we returned, my husband saw 2 baby roaches on the counter. The front desk clerk apologized and allowed us to change rooms. She told me that she would have the sales manager reach out to me. When we checked out the next day, the lady at the front desk had the title of sales manager or director on her name tag. When I told her about the incident and pointed to a note, that I could clearly see near her computer about the incident, she acted like it was the first time she heard about it, but still said nothing. I told her what the clerk said. Then she said, oh, the general manager will call you on Monday. Today is Monday, at 7:26pm, and I have spoken to no one.

The pictures presented online in no way reflects the current conditions of the property. Our wifi did not work, the pool was not open as advertised. Since breakfast was bagged, we expected to have coffee available but it was not readily available. The young lady working the counter should have help if the normal breakfast attendant doesnt have to cook the hot breakfast. The ice machines didnt work and none was provided. At a cost similar to what it would have been to stay downtown or in a more upscale hotel, we expected to not experience as many failed general maintenance items. Not having ice seems small but for the amount of athletes who had lunches and water that needed ice, it was just another expense added as we had to stop at a gas station to purchase what should have been included. We just travel often and have a pretty good idea of what our money should get us and were disappointed to pay so much on the outskirts and not receive the benefits associated.

The room was clean, spacious and very modern. Easy check in.

Pretty dated. Weird staying in second building. Having to walk across parking lot for breakfast.

For the most part the facility was clean. The staff was friendly. The facility could use some updating and the pull out bed we needed for children was dirty and not useable causing two kids to have to sleep on the couch.

It was nice to be able to have 2 bedrooms/bathrooms and a kitchen to be able to just relax and not be so cramped. Didn't have time to be in the pool or fitness center but would have loved to have done those things.

My family and I were in Indianapolis for a one-night stay to attend a concert. We were absolutely thrilled by every aspect of this hotel. Check-in was quick and easy, with a full coffee and tea bar available upon entry. Our 2-bedroom suite was absolutely fantastic with nice comfortable beds, clean bedrooms, and even popcorn for a welcome gift. Hot tub was relaxing, pool was fun for the kids, and if we were staying longer there was a charcoal/gas grill available for use. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of hot (eggs, sausage, waffle, oatmeal) and cold (cereal, fruit, pastries, yogurt) selections. Would definitely stay here again for short or long stays.

The room had a decidedly “smoked-in” smell in the kitchenette area that made me question if it had been cleaned prior to check-in. The room could use a good carpet shampoo to get that odor out. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly.
