Wyndham Garden York

The beds were comfy. You were only allowed to get coffee for free until 10 AM, so if you sleep in, you’re out of luck. The bagged breakfast was okay. My kids liked more of the items. We were told the pool was open when we booked the hotel, but when we got there it was closed. The general manager did make it up to us though. The courtyard was nice if it had been warmer out. The rooms were a decent size too.

Simple. Easy check-in. The A/C (in this case the heater) rattled, so I turned it off, and the light didn't work on the desk, but overall we were there for only 12 hours. Bed was comfy and I like the different entrances throughout the building to get to your room.

We had a lovely stay. However, the cable tv was not working and when we called the front desk they said there wasn’t anything they could do. So it was a little boring watching the clock.

The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything outside your room. Even during Covid the hotel allowed groups to meet in the pool area and they were very loud. I called for a plumber the first night and they never came. Had to call again in the morning and they finally came. Towels still had the previous users hair inside the fabric. Shower doors were not leveled so they would slide open.

The hotel was fine located, my only dessapoint was the cleaning in the room, looks like no one clean the floor, even the bath. Old phone that dont getme communicate with desk. During this covid-19 crisis, hope this hotel doing well on clean at all areas. First impression is important always.

All was great except the sheets had holes in them. They should not have been used

House keeping did not their have masks on half of the time when I passed them in the hall. One time the house keeper blew her nose in the hall. Next time I walked past her and her mask was down.

My room was very nice. The bathroom was updated and very clean. I have no complaints. I would stay here again.

It was convenient. But bedspread was raggedy with a joke in it. The telephone was hooked up so had to use my cell to call fd. But got no answer. No one was on duty for the overnight. Front Desk person Kara was helpful in selecting good restaurant. But she left at 4 pm.

This stay wasn't a good one. From checing in and having the clerk at the desk telling a guest that there were no managers on staff for the weekend, to people being allowed into the pool area after hours, to the 20 minutes of listening to someone pushing the door over and over into the locked room. After hearing the door noise for a while, (10:30-11:00 PM approximately) not feeling safe enough to go out into the hall, we looked out of the door peep hole. The view on the other side was a man ramming himself into the door. When I called the front desk and explaining what I was seeing, the staff member laughed and said there was a guest locked out of their room and she had asked someone to try and help get them back inside. No apology, nothing. I originally had booked 2 separate weekends as we will be traveling back to PA in 2 wees. The second stay at this hotel will not be happening. I would add that the housekeeping staff was extremely friendly and helpful.Kudos to them!
