Sandcastle Resort at Lido Beach

This hotel has seen better days. The pool bartender was awesome. The check-in staff must have missed that day in kindergarten when "please and thank you" were taught.

In spite of the Pandemic and 1st floor flooding from TS Eta the week before, the hotel was clean and comfortable. The front desk agent was friendly and polite. We had issues with our key cards taking 8-10 swipes to work, but a maintenance person was promptly sent to change the batteries in our door lock.

There was a great surprise to get an open area from our room to the Beach.(Ground level)The room was clean, it has a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and electronic safe.I really enjoyed the FREE WiFi. There was 2 pools. The small one was heat and my husband swam in it 😊. The people who bings the free chairs and umbrella to the beach were So nice and respectful . Also there is a shutter/bus that take u free from hotel to St. Armands C.The TV conexión was not so good but we really went to the beach so we pass that detail.The overall of the hotel condition may needs some remodeling like change the floor’s rooms old carpet for tile or waterproof laminated. Cleaned the a/c vents and maybe more up to date adjustment. I brought an spray to remove odors just in case😍. Safe place-if you looks for a place to stay without any luxury only good time , clean and more - I recommend it to u😊

Its our 5th time staying in this place, although the place is kinda old, the resort is clean ,the service is very good, the staff are very attentive , its very close to the beach.

Breakfast not included, no music in the pool area, we saw 2 pets even do it was not allow. Some employees had attitude only housekeepers were very attentive by saying good morning, etc....

The hotel is very outdated on top of that is is not clean I found food under a chair. I didn’t feel safe at all during this covid situation. The pools are ok but one has a heater while the other one is super cold. Beach is beautiful that is the only thing positive I have to say about this hotel. They didn’t include breakfast when the majority of hotels in sarasota offer this option, it cost $15 per person average. I had to wait 30mint in the lobby to check in... I’m not coming back to this hotel and I won’t recommend it to any friend nor a family

I was quite nervous after reading other reviews, but the hotel was clean and functional. We enjoyed our stay.

The service was professional, everybody was very nice, helpful. Thank you for it. Unfortunately, the whole building is in a very poor condition. Starting to the door closing system, the facet needed a strong men help to turn on, everything is OLD. It wasn't updated in couple a decades. It is sed, because I'm a long time customer and my hart is broken to see this. May be you want to build a new hotel is the future? This is a reason for not to improve anything? I would like to know why this beloved hotel dying?!!!

We enjoyed the beach but the hotel was terrible, shower didn't work a rusty safe in the room, smelled paint and knocking all nite from the room next door. The room they gave us shouldn't have never been rented, for out troubles they waved the resort fee. Until they get that whole place renovation go and stay else where!!
