Selina Lapa Rio de Janeiro

Great stay. I would recommend. The staff was really nice and helpful. The new guy (can't remember his name but he recently came back from working in the U.S.) was really helpful and had excellent customer service. The area was convenient. The hotel was clean and well kept. The only cons were - No iron - No first-aid kit - The common kitchen area wasn't clean. Even though it is up to guests to use they should have standard cleaning since everyone's individual cleaning style is not thorough. Also, a tip is to keep the key card in the slot to use the air conditioning and taking it out will cause it to go out.

The hotel was nice but could do with a bit of cleaning, I had a mild rash from sleeping in the bed. The location is right in the centre of the night district (Lapa) and very close to the historic centre and the famous stairs but far from the beach.

Good stay. Great personnel. There's always a security person at the door. The night guard was the nicest, super polite and helpful. The rooms are spacious. I paid for the mixed room, and staff was kind enough to put me in a girls-only room, as the hostel was not full. There's a nice, open rooftop with a bar. There's also a bar at the reception. They have lively music on both of them somedays. Big common kitchen, with a lot of equipment (but no glasses, be aware). There's also a cinema and a library. I would stay there again.

Stayed three nights at the Selina after Carnival. The hotel and staff were excellent. The hotel is situated in a central location. Great value for the price. Would recommend.

Gorgeous old building in the middle of Lapa, tastefully renovated and with a very chic decor. lots of social activities going on in and outside the hostel. Everything was perfect except our room was very noisy as it's a busy area and there's barely insulation from the outside noises. I loved it nevertheless.

Selina Hotel is in a great location! Rooms are updated and look chic and new. The bed was comfortable, wifi fast, air con strong. The room was big enough, it was reasonably quiet for a good night sleep (and the black out curtains were awesome). The hotel has a nice kitchen area downstairs and a ton of space to get work done. There is also a restaurant/bar downstairs. The highlight (other than location and comfort) was that there is a super fun rooftop bar with parties going on you get free access to when staying at the hotel. Would recommend! No pool or TV in rooms, FYI.

Great location .reasonable price . And safe Best for family , couples and solo .deponds of what sort of room you choosing and ur budget . I travel solo . And I love to be middle of party . If that you are looking for that’s a best place . My room was at 7th floor .just 1 level down roof party . I had to register my guest which actually make me feel safe and I appreciate hotel to keep us safe . Breakfast wasn’t the best but that doesn’t matter . Everything else was great ;))) Thanks for having me . If I back to rio . That’s a hotel I’ll be choose in Lapa . Just walking distance from tourist attractions;)and party . thanks again
