    Gamla Väster

    Combine shopping with old-town charm

Gamla Väster is a picturesque part of Malmö's Old Town (Gamla staden) and a charming place to do some shopping. There are plenty of different fashion boutiques including both larger chains selling exclusive brands as well as smaller, independent stores where you can pick up something unique. The area itself has retained a lot of its old-world charm, with plenty of beautiful and historic buildings and streets to admire as you stroll around from shop to shop.

Most of what you can see is from the 19th-century, although certain streets and buildings have features dating back to the Middle Ages. What's more, the area's proximity to both Stortorget square and Little Square (Lilla torg) make it an excellent location to pause for a cup of coffee or a bite to eat when energy levels run low.
