You’ll also find stores selling the famous and delicious Blackpool rock candy, a hard sugar dessert that seasiders love.

    Established in 1949, Brooks Collectables and Museum is a local treasure. Downstairs, you’ll find items ranging from diecast models of famous icons to royal memorabilia and Edwardian china. Head to the upstairs museum to see collections of British military bands, antique dollhouses and models of Blackpool’s famous landmarks. Admission to the museum is free.

    St John’s Square is a pedestrianised retail area between the Grade II listed St John’s Church and Winter Gardens. Here, you can see public art, open-air performances, restaurants with outdoor seating areas, and shops ranging from national retailers to independent vendors. It’s a top local shopping spot for jewellery and clothing.

    Throughout the year, many festivals take place in the streets surrounding St John’s Square. If visiting in August, check out the Rebellion Festival, which brings together some of the world’s biggest punk bands. If you prefer a more laid-back atmosphere, you might enjoy the annual British Country Music Festival, which is free to attend.

    Fleetwood Market is one of the best places in Blackpool to find jewellery, watches, ornaments and a range of household goods at bargain prices. Around 250 stalls are situated in a large Victorian building, making Fleetwood Market one of the largest indoor markets in the North West. Weather permitting, there's also a selection of outdoor stalls selling products ranging from food items to clothing.

    Fleetwood Market is about 30 minutes from the centre of Blackpool by car, and there’s plenty of on-road parking available. If you want to travel like a local, jump on the tram at Starr Gate. The journey might take up to 50 minutes, but a ticket costs just over £2.

    Houndshill Shopping Centre is home to high street names such as Debenhams, Next, Primark and New Look, making it Blackpool’s premier indoor retail space for fashion and lifestyle shopping. Over 65 retailers are spread across the centre’s 4 floors. When you need to give your legs a rest, you can fill up on tasty bites from fast-food restaurants like Greggs and Burger King.

    If travelling by car, you’ll find a parking space with easy access to the centre in the adjoining multi-storey car park, and some stores offer car parking vouchers in return for your custom. Alternatively, you can reach the centre by catching a bus numbered 42, 61 or 7 to the Talbot Road bus stop.

    Bank Hey Street is a traffic-free retail space just behind Blackpool Tower. Major names on the street include Primark, TK Maxx and Sports Direct, though you’ll also find local stores such as Utopia Womenswear and Sonia Fashions.     Thanks to its location, Bank Hey Street offers a quiet shopping retreat away from the hustle of the Promenade, yet it’s just a stone’s throw away from major attractions such as Blackpool Tower Dungeon and Dino Mini Golf. The closest car park is just a couple of minutes away at the Houndshill Shopping Centre.

    The Promenade, known locally as The Golden Mile, stretches 1.7 miles between the North and South Piers in Blackpool, offering sweeping views over the beach and ocean. It’s widely considered to be the UK’s slot machine capital, but there’s also plenty of rock candy shops, souvenir stalls, independent retailers, and restaurants ranging from themed pubs to traditional ‘chippies’.

    Famous attractions on the Promenade include Blackpool Tower, SEA LIFE Blackpool, Madame Tussauds and the Pleasure Beach theme park, making it a top destination for shoppers, beachgoers and thrill-seekers alike. If you don’t quite have enough energy to walk the entire length of The Golden Mile, you can jump on a tram for a few pounds.

    You’ll find Bonny Street Market just behind SEA LIFE Blackpool on the Promenade. The closest car park is Bonny Street car park, and Chapel Street car park and Jaggy Thistle car park are with walking distance.

    The Regent

    The Regent is a large antiques emporium inside an old 1920’s cinema in Blackpool, with around 50 stalls spread across its 3 floors covering over 600 square metres. Products include china, pottery, homeware, furniture and collectables. Downstairs, there’s a vintage tearoom and a café that serves homemade brews, cakes and confectionery.

    Entry to The Regent is free, and there’s a large car park directly opposite the building. You can also take the train to Blackpool North, which is about 10 minutes away by foot. Most buses that connect Blackpool to other major UK towns make a stop about 200 from this historic landmark.
