Overall it appears to be a good hotel but once in the room, for the price I paid, I didn't feel the quality was there in the construction, e. g. The toilet handle (plastic) broke off during my stay, it had the feel of a inexpensively constructed hangout for the younger crowd who may or may not appreciate quality rather they like the bling approach.

Although location was very important to me, I was not happy with the cleanliness of the room. Initial odor when entering was unpleasant. (Body odor from previous occupant) The shower was not clean around the hinges of the glass doors, it was obviously not cleaned for awhile. I cringe just thinking about it now. Sorry.

My wife had an overnight here before heading to Mexico and were pleasantly surprised by the availability of cruiser bikes at the hotel that we used to ride along the beautiful Marine Drive trail followed by dinner at Salty's restaurant. It was the perfect start to our vacation with some beautiful weather.

I'd stay again for a night...to catch a plane... The location was convenient, the people were very helpful and nice. But the beds were uncomfortable... I wouldn't be able to stay for a long period of time because of that. Plenty to do in the area.

Our room had near zero connectivity and when we did connect it asked for a password. When we contacted the front desk, we were told there was no need for a password and they would send someone up--to what I wasn't sure as that person also never appeared. Very surprised for my first time stay. Small things like free bottled water in the room to a cool lobby area with pool table and a bar made this hotel different from the rest out by the airport. Terrific front desk staff -- very friendly and helpful. Actually, all of the staff was very friendly. The swimming pool was an added plus. It would have been even better if they had a jacuzzi. Really nice property for the price.

I think the Aloft is a wonderful hotel. It had many amenities which I took advantage of, especially the fitness room and the free WiFi. The décor was great, a very European feel. That said, there was one major issue I had that would prevent me from staying there again. Let me start out by saying that I stayed with my wife and daughter for a weekend […] trip to Portland. The issue is the bathroom door. It is not the kind with a door knob and hinges that closes tight. No, it is a wooden sliding door that goes well with the décor. The problem is there are 1/2 inch gaps on the sides and the bottom of the door, which gives it the sound deadening capabilities of a paper towel. Further, there is no fan in the bathroom that you can turn on to mask noise. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I don't want my wife and daughter to hear my, how can I put this, "bathroom noises". My wife and daughter don't want to share their noises with the rest of the family either. One could argue that this openness about bodily functions is part of the European theme, but I don't buy it. I've been to Europe many times and have never encountered a hotel bathroom that makes you feel so exposed. Anyway, I do think the Aloft is a great hotel, but that bathroom door is a show stopper. If the Aloft room designers reengineer that door to make my bathroom experience more private, I would definitely stay there again. Další informace

Aloft is impressive when you first walk through the door. There is a hip lobby, a cool bar, friendly workers, and a big sign that says "Portlandia" above it all. There’s a 24 hour pool and fitness center. Everything is pretty - but as a very pragmatic person I found it frustrating that the little things were overlooked. There is a sliding door to the […] bathroom - not soundproof if you are trying to have a romantic weekend getaway with your sweetie and you’re the self-conscious type. There’s only 1 hook in the bathroom - you can only hang one towel at a time. Microwave wasn’t plugged in & it took several minutes to feed the cord thru a small hole in the cabinet to plug it in. On the + side: we loved the Bliss toiletries; the hotel was very quiet & our room overlooked the light rail; the bar serves tasty drinks & has a very good reputation for the musical acts it brings in; the hotel is very close to the Cascades station so we left every morning to explore Portland, finding it very easy to return at night. We LOVED being able to walk everywhere & save money on a rental car by taking PT. Safe & close to many shops, including Target and Buffalo Wild Wings. However, the worst part of our stay was the bed. The pillows were way to "lofty" & the bed itself was not comfortable. I woke up with a sore back every day. Location was great but - mostly because of the bed - the comfort factor was not there. We basically only stayed there long enough to sleep and then get up and get on a plane for home after driving around the Olympic Peninsula and making it to the PDX Aloft hotel at midnight. I love the TV input box where you can plug in about anything you want. Still need to take advantage of that sometime. Didn't have time for the bar this time unfortunately. I didn't have to worry about parking as I dumped off my rental car, but parking cost was really annoying in Chicago. I wonder if there is a charge here also - something to look for. Also, expect to pay for any breakfast (and there isn't much there) unless you're just getting a cup of coffee or tea. Shuttle worked fine, though we had to wait longer than expected once despite it being very close when one of the drivers went to get gas apparently and another had to get us. By the way, the shuttle is shared with a few other hotels nearby so watch for the logos on the van closely. We enjoy the Alofts and will continue to stay at them. Další informace

The beds were definitely sub standard including sheets and pillows. The mattress pads were loose and lumpy, not tight and fitted. The fitted bottom sheet would not stay on the mattress coming loose in the middle of the night. Stayed here just for one night. Wanted something close off the freeway. Pleasantly surprised that the airport wasn't loud and the kids enjoyed watching the planes land. Close to shopping too! I'd stay here again!

Very friendly staff. Warm welcome. Very helpful. Snacks available at any time. Didn't use the bar facilities, pool, exercise room but they were well-placed for convenient use. Quick trip to the airport. Everyone was VERY friendly - nice to get a warm smile when I arrived around midnight.

We had a great stay. Our room had everything we needed with a smart layout and design. We also loved how dog friendly they are. Close to a train stop so there's no need to pay downtown prices for a hotel. We will probably be staying here every time we go to Portland.
