We booked a suite, actually upgraded with hotels.com and don't think we got upgrade when we arrived. This suite is in the annex building, room very large but walls need painting, very scuffed up and worn, tile broken on corner in bath, very stuffy smell. We were brought in 2 rather large portable units that had to be vented through window, so couldn't look out of windows then. You are away from hotel staff, rooms in main building probably better. Good room, great staff, awesome location. We got a basic room, but were very please with the quality. The view of the Pantheon was limited, but that was expected for a basic level room. The restaurants around the hotel are nice and offer a great view of the Pantheon, but the staff recommended other nearby options that were incredible.

We chose this Hotel primarily for location and it is right near the Pantheon and a short walk from many of the sites. The room was small but clean and comfortable. We stayed in December and found the temperature bordering on sweltering, the heat was always cranked up high in the hotel. My wife and I spent 6 nights here. Excellent central location for wandering around the sights. Interesting, almost labyrinthine, interior so finding our way to the breakfast area on the first morning was fun - it was well signposted though. Jacuzzi bath […] is a novelty and very relaxing - just don't use it with shower gel in the water (even a tiny amount as I did) or you're in danger of filling the bathroom with bubbles!! Given the tiny kitchen area, the variety for breakfast was very good - juices, water, coffee/tea, bread, croissants (various), cereals, breads, cakes, tarts, doughnuts (the small ones with custard are to die for), fruit (variety day to day including fruit salads), cold meats and cheeses, fruit yogurts. You can make toast but that is the only hot food. Eggs were either boiled or fried (on bread, so were cold). If you don't want to sit inside for breakfast, the patio area - the atrium on the first floor - is covered and has lights and heaters so is comfortable and dry. It poured with rain a few times when we were there and we were fine. There is no wi-fi in the bedrooms, but you can access the internet from the TV (I didn't), and there is a connecting cable for a computer. There is wi-fi in the lounge area on the ground floor and you can also use the computer there that is attached to a printer - ideal to check-in online and print boarding passes. We'll be back. Room was too small to spend any time in -- other than sleeping -- and the in-room wifi needs some work. On the positive side, in spite of the hotel being right next to the Pantheon and accompanying crowds of people, our room was very quiet. Breakfast selections are varied and quite good. We were here for our 37th Honeymoon and had a lovely stay. You absolutely cannot beat the location for atmosphere,and convenience. The staff were all uniformly helpful and friendly. This is not a big hotel so you feel as though your custom is valued. We stayed 3 nights in early June and had a wonderful time. The location is ideal with all main attractions within walking distance and plenty of good restaurants within only a minute or two away. This is hotel was in an amazing location great atmosphere in the Pantheon Piazza great food close by. Was safe walking in all streets and possible to walk to all major sites in less then 30mins! We stayed in the Apartment because we had 4 in our room (6 in our group). The apartment was wonderful. It was well furnished, comfortable, much nicer than I thought from the pictures and less than 1/2 a block from the Pantheon. You can see the Pantheon easily from any of the 3 big windows. Trust me, you cannot find a better location in Rome than this […] hotel (assuming you are a sightseer). The breakfast is very good and the staff is friendly. The pastries were warm and tasty, the juice was great and the meats and cheeses were very fresh. They were even gracious enough to allow the other two in our party to eat with us each morning at breakfast. Our bathroom looked brand new (the shower is very small but it is Rome). Our room was cleaned every day (our companions only had their rooms cleaned once every 3rd day). There were plenty of blankets, towels, pillows etc. and we had more in the cabinets if we needed them. The bath products were great as well. Our room was very big with a meeting area and a bedroom. We used it as the central hub for everything we did and could easily sit the 6 of us in the main room (even while others were getting ready in the bathroom or bedroom). IMO,, in this day and age, wireless service should be free in 4-5 star hotels... I had obtained a last minute, special room rate via Expedia.... off season.... the regular rack rates,,, for in season ,, listed in hotel brochure were a bit steep.... but Rome hotel are expensive, in season. We had a "superior" room with a view of the Pantheon. The view was amazing, we could see the whole square. The reason I gave it four stars overall is that I'd have to agree about our bathroom. Being the "oldest hotel in Rome," it was obvious that our plumbing was not an original part of the plan of the room itself, therefore, no proper ventilation, […] and it was pretty musty. There was mildew in the grout as some reviewer pointed out, but it was clean otherwise. Also, our double bed had a King headboard and was two twin mattresses pushed together with about an inch difference in height when we were laying down, not that comfortable if you were on the lump. But, I picked the room because of the view and not the bathroom or comfort. Had the opportunity to see another room because of a mix up, which was quickly taken care of by the staff, and its bathroom was immaculate and done up very nicely. The best location in Rome. To have the magnificent Pantheon on your front doorstep is truly magical. Equidistant from the Vatican and the Termini allowing us to walk everywhere.
