Best Western Convention Center Hotel – New York

Just came back from great holidays in NY. Don´t understand where are all negative reviews about Best Western from. This hotel is great, 10 mins to Times Square. Room was small, but bed was very comfortable, every day clean bed sheets and towels. Staff was always nice and ready for help. Breakfast was also good, everything you need for start of the day. […] Only thing which wasn´t good was that wifi didn´t work on our iPhones, but on laptop worked well. I can recomend this hotel. It was a clean Hotel with very helpful staff. It is the perfect spot for a weeks stay in Manhatten. The rooms were rather small but we still managed with 4 persons in one room (since we only really were in the room to sleep). The neighbourhood is quite ok even so it looks a little dirty we never once had problems or felt in anyway uncomfortable even […] at night. All in all a good hotel for a short business trip or a weeks or so visit to the Big Apple. The Best Western Convention Center in Manhatten is perfectly located for people who want to explore Manhatten and do not want to spend a lot of Money doing so. It is only a 15min stroll away from Time Square from where you will find most of the sights within another 15 min walking radius. If you do not like to walk i would strongly suggest the weekly pass for the subway. The next subway station is the Penn Station which is conveniently located on 42nd St one of the main streets of Manhatten. Další informace

I had a wonderful and quiet moment there rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean. I definitely recommend this hotel to others.

This hotel was fabulous!!! The neighborhood was quiet, interesting & close to the attractions of Midtown Manhattan. The staff was friendly & helpful. The breakfast was a lovely bonus. I would highly recommend!!!

loved the service, the staff were very helpful and friendly! only fault i coulf find is its alittle outdated and could benefit from having a restaurant on site. could use some sprucing up. rooms were spotless beds were clean and comfortable. and right in the middle of everything, truly could walk everywhere. one of my best experiences to date.

This Best Western is close to Times Square and all the surrounding sights, including the Hudson River Cruise which is just a block down the street. We were very pleased with the service!

I found this hotel to be hidden for location in a street that was dark & on it's own. A bit scary at night. The rooms were small & cramped in even though l was only to sleep some room to move would of been nice. Not at all like the photo. A huge disappointment was the complimentary breakfast, the scrambled eggs were powdered and filled in the warmer […] from a plastic bag, the variety of food was poor.Some decent cutlery & plates would of been nice instead of plastic, I was't at a kids party. I was there over Christmas and no attention was given to this besides the tree in the way of festive food etc. The hotel staff were bland and boring. Great service, great location, food buffet was really good. We weren't expecting anything too great for the cheap price we paid, but it was way above expectations. Our only criticism of the hotel was that they washed our towels when we didn't want. But that's hardly a bad thing!

The hotel is located less than 5 minutes off the West Side Highway (H. Hudson PKWY). It is about a 2 minute walk to the Javits Convention Center. The staff person at the desk was extremely helpful and patient. We were there for a wedding and needed to drop off gift baskets to other people going to the wedding. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was modern and spotless. The beds were average and we slept well. Adequate on all counts, and given its comparative low cost, i.e. comparative to other NYC hotels, it was exactly what we wanted. Key elements : comfortable beds, clean and well located for Broadway, good breakfast. If near Broadway was our aimn, we would stay there again.

We were very pleased with the hotel. The location was great - walking distance to everything. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, breakfast was good. We have been recommending this hotel to our friends. Will definately stay here again when we come to New York.

My bf and I stayed at this hotel when we were attending NY ComicCon at the Javits. The location could not have been more perfect if you were attending the event. This was a pretty nice hotel room even though it was tiny. The humongous king size bed took up all the room though, so I will say if you don't need king size DO NOT BOOK IT. The breakfast they […] offered was not really worth talking about: there was usually some type of eggs and biscuits, no meat either morning I was there ( I don't count the eggs as "meat"). There was cereal, but the bowls were super tiny. I had never seen tiny Styrofoam bowls before. Biggest con for this hotel was that there was a horse and carriage station right next to the hotel and it was seriously funky during the walk to the convention center, but that was not a big deal once you walked by it. The other possible concern was the auto body shops that were 24 hours, they were pretty loud so if you are a light sleeper it will probably bother you. That wasn't a problem for me or my bf though. Not bad for the price

This hotel was perfect for a conference at the Javits. Located less than a block from Jacob Javits Center, just a three minute walk. Granted, it isn't the greatest neighborhood in NY but it wasn't a "scary" place either. I was perfectly comfortable walking anytime, day or night. Best thing as that it's close to some good Ethiopian restaurants further up 10th Ave. The room was a bit worn, but clean. The all night taxi garage across the street was loud -- I slept with earplugs. Ask for a room away from the street. The foam mattress was a bit soft for my taste, but I got a good night's sleep.

Great stay and terrific value for money. Very helpful and friendly staff, very clean and easily 3-4 star quality for 2 star price. Simple 10-12 mins walk to Times Square and Port Authority for access to buses, subway, etc. Also less than 10 mins walk to pier for Circle Line, Water Taxi & Sea Air Space Museum. The location of the hotel was great and I also felt it was quite comfortable . . . my two main points for choosing the hotel. The free internet was an unexpected added bonus!!

Just came back from a 3 day stay at the hotel. Can’t not complain really at all for the price we paid for the room. Pros Staff were great, could not do enough for us. Mike the day porter is really nice and friendly guy, gave us great advise where to shop and where to avoid. Staff arranged a stretched Limo for 8 of us to take us back to Newark airport; […] Limo was a nice treat as it worked out the same price as taking a private mini buss. Breakfast was a surprise, Scrambled eggs, hot scones, three types of serials, toast, bagels, fruit, tea, coffee, juice; this was more than I was expecting from a free breakfast. Location is not bad either, area does not look great but we had no issues at all, we were walking back at 10-11PM and felt quite safe. Walk to Times Square was 15 min max; Empire State building only 20 mins. Local shops only 2 min walk, you can buy your water, beers, snacks and avoid paying the tourist (Time Square) prices. If your vegetarian likeI me; highly recommend ‘Chipotle’ (Mexican fast food), lots of them all over and Maoz Vegetarian (best falafel I had),( 200 West 40th St NY 10018) Cons Rooms are quite small, the ones nearer the lifts are bigger than the one further away so if there are more than two of you in a room; confirm/ask to be put in one of the bigger rooms. Train track right behind the hotel, though had no issues overnight at all with noise, only approx 7AM each morning a training would go past hooting it horn. We were up early anyway ready for sightseeing so it was not an issue for us at all. Carpets could do with deep clean (not sticky just look a bit old). I patiently waited until I got a great deal for less than $200 in downtown NYC. The room was not too small, not just a "bed" room. I checked for bed bugs and there were NONE! The free bagels and coffee were great, free WIFI, cable. Quiet area a short $7 cab ride from the city. I recommend this hotel.

I definitely do not recommend the hotel for the location of night is dangerous. There are about a stables of horses there is smelly and stools near the hotel. The train passes on the one hand to the 8:am and sounds the Horn in the intersections for which wakes up if one this sleeping. The breakfast is very limited. Hotel was clean. Not located in the best part of town. Desk manager checked us out when my husband left for his flight. I was still in the room asleep. PERK Room did include breakfast. Eggs, biscuits and gravy. Much more than the average cereal and muffins.

I stayed here for just one night for a convention at the Javits Center. The location could not have been more convenient/close, even though I had to walk through the storage area for the horse drawn carriages (& horses) and the garages with cars parked all over the place and mechanics hanging about. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean my room was, […] and even though I was right next to the elevator it was not very noisy at all. The garages working on the taxi cabs had machines going until at least 11 pm, and that could be heard but was not horrible (I was on the 9th floor, it may be worse on lower floors?). The room was small like most NY hotels, but not awful, and everything worked and was clean so I had no complaints there at all. The continental breakfast was fairly standard - cereal, toast, eggs (powdered), fruit, juice, coffee/tea. I've had better, but I've had worse too. Basically - a good basic hotel very close to the Javits Center, maybe a little overpriced. Good for a convention/business trip - I wouldn't recommend it for tourists looking to see the sites, though. Hotel was within walking distance of subway, Times Square and lots of food choices. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was small but would guess that's the standard in the city. I'd stay again on future trip.

I select this hotel by the distance to the Javits Convention Center - less than a minute to get there! I read about the noisy location, it has an auto repair at the front that works 24 hours a day and I looked by my window to see if they were working because there was not noise.The staff was very nice and pleased to help guests. It is not so close to […] the Times square & Broadway attractions but I felt secure walking by until 9 pm. I was surprised with the continental breakfast, with scrambled eggs and many thinks to choose that you don't need to walk away to spend money to be satisfied. Definitely, I recommend it. Hotel was basic, but all facilities were clean. Rooms were of average size but all equipment and bed were comfortable, shower etc. Breakfast was basic continental, not much variety and the room area was small due to number of guests eating at same time , lack of tables. Took actual cost of hotel into consideration when booking.

The hotel lobby was a bit drab but the rooms were clean and for the price it was well worth the stay. There was parking right next door as well which was a plus. There is a lot of traffic in the neighborhood since the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel is almost next door to the hotel so it was a bit loud but not any more than most places in Midtown. Room was clean with comfortable bed. Had a desk to work at with free internet access. Hearty free breakfast. Staff was helpful and even warmed my take out Chinese food for me for dinner. I will stay here again.

Rooms are clean and, although small, very comfortable. Location is in Hells Kitchen and only a $10.00 (with tip) taxi ride for 4 people to Broadway and Times Square.

1 challenge. I had been told that there would be internet access in the room. It was not strong enough to make a connection. 10 floors down -0 if i sat in the lobby - it worked. I asked for a cable- to be physically connected. The manager said to let them know if there was any problems- but when I returned a number of times saying the cable connection […] & the roaming connection - both failed- the staff- just said that it should. Taxi Repair shop directly across the street; cabbies were shouting and chatting outside the hotel as late as 4AM. If you can sleep through that noise, this is a great place.

This was not the worst hotel stay I have had, but it was definately not the best. The employees at the Best Western were not very friendly and when asked a question were not very helpful. I was staying at this hotel as a vendor for the NYC Gift Show, so I stayed in NYC for about a week. In that time I grew very tired of the same continental breakfast […] every day without mainy choices and a very uncomfortable memory foam mattress. Also, it was not very relaxing to hear vacuums every single day of my stay at 5 minutes past 9:00 AM. It was driving me nuts that the housekeeping staff would start so early and constantly knock on my door to see if they come in. The housekeepers do a great job, but they should start at 10:00 AM with their duties and not be so annoying. Other than that my stay was fine. So if you want the same monotonous breakfast every morning, mediocre customer service, and an annoying housekeeping staff...stay at this Best Western by the Javits Center. Další informace
