Food and pool area were sub par and I would rate them 2-3 star quality. This is definitely not a luxury hotel, but the location is right by Atlantis and on a gorgeous beach.

Not a bad place to go. Needs updating but the food is good and the service is very good. Restaurants are nothing special and you won't miss out if you stick with the great choices of the nightly buffet. Make sure you bring some fake tatoos if you do not have any so that you will "fit in".

A good value. The food was very good and had a lot of choices on the buffet. There are four specialty restaurants that you have to wait in line in the morning to reserve a spot. The time choices for these were only at 6:30 or 9 PM. The 9 PM time is late for most people, so the 6:30 times fill quickly. The staff is very friendly. It is also right next to the Atlantis complex, and if you walk through their hotel lobby next door, AFTER 5 PM, you can pretty much walk through all the lagoons and aquariums, which are very nice. if you go during the day, security will turn you back unless you pay $40, which we thought was a bit outrageous. We took the watertaxi near the long bridge that you get to Paradise Island from and it was only $8 a person round trip, to go into downtown. Everything was wonderful with our stay expect thempeddlers on the beach. There was no regulation from hotel staff/security on the beach. So literally every 5 minutes someone was approaching us asking if we wanted jet skiis, snorkeling, etc. i usually dont complain about the hustlers but this was out of control and messes up my mojo!!!!!!

Our room always seemed humid. We kept the balcony door closed but everything was still damp all the time. Our wet swimsuits never did dry. The hotel is very small & confined. There is smoking allowed all over & the beach is not private, so locals are trying to sell you stuff constantly. I had an excelent experience in this hotel. Food is delcious and available 24hours. For those of who love drinking, this is the best place. I had read some iffy reviews of this hotel but when I went there is was nothing but GREAT. The staff was super nice and attentive and even remembered my name everyday. My room was excellent. The food was delicious, and the drinks were strong. The Internet worked perfectly, and I was able to stream Netflix. The staff was very friendly. It was 100 yards from Atlantis. I was able to go from my room, to the lobby bar, and then to the beach in under 5 minutes. That's what you want from a beach hotel.

Visited for 5 days 4 nights in early January. Thinking of pros comes easily, cons take more time. Definitely recommend. Pros: -The beach was great. Fine white sand, warm water. The area immediately adjacent to the hotel filled up with people in the afternoon. Since all the beaches were public, you can walk west for 0.3 miles or 1 mile east for sands […] and waters that were just as nice or nicer. -Service was very good. Our room was clean, staff kept it clean. Dinner service, both at specialty (Krystal, Tengoku) and regular, was good. -Food was very good. Great variety, always had fresh salad (lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, onions, etc) and fresh fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon, pineapple sometimes), lots of meats and fish. Cons: -Sitting out on the beach attracts people hawking jet ski rides, water, coverups, cigars, etc. More of a minor annoyance. We visited the Riu December 12th for 8 days. Check in was extremely easy and we were greeted with a cold beverage. The room was basic but clean andstocked daily. We enjoyed our stay at the Riu with only a few exceptions. Internet access was frustrating. After 2 days we were finally forced to call tech support who connected us within 10 minutes. Don't […] expect the front ddest to be of any assistance. Their common response to our complaint of no internet was "our internet is out right now, they are working on it." The internet was never out. We only ate in the buffet however there were 3 other 'gormet' restaurants you could dine in providing you made reservations early in the morning. We've eaten in them before and were unimpressed. Bartenders were wonderful, avoid the Sports Bar .. when they felt like taking your order they would do it but not before. Activities were available and they were quickly booked, all were amazing and we enjoyed them immensely. All in all I would go back again. I don't consider this anything more than a 3 star hotel. I stayed at the RIU on Paradise Island as a single from Dec. 30-Jan. 3. I was concerned about some of the negative reviews and found basically none of the bad things people have reported to be true. The room was excellent -- a junior ocean suite with a great view of the beach and ocean. The AC did get too cold, but the weather was fantastic 24/7 so […] I just shut the AC off and left the balcony door open (8th floor. The water pressure and temp control of the water was as good if not better than any hotel I've stayed in. The minibar was stocked daily, including adequate bottled water. The buffets were outstanding to say the least. I didn't try any of the speciality restraurants -- didn't need to. New Year's Eve buffet was incredible. Pool and pool bar great; beach clean and wonderful. 24-hour sports bar and lobby bar were excellent -- I only went in the club once for one drink but it was clean and every employee throughout the place was polite and accomodating. I did get a massage at the spa and it wasn't worth the $98. Wouldn't do that again. And don't forget the 4-ounce rule on the plane. I forgot about it and had to pay $25 for a 4-ounce bottle of sunscreen. Take the day trip to Sandy Toes at Rose Island. Best $70 you'll ever spend. We recently stayed at the Riu for three nights/four days. The staff was friendly and helpful. The property is all inclusive so take advantage. The in room liquor dispenser was a great idea but was filled with cheap liquors so we didn't use it. The only beer you will get on tap is Kalik which is a Bahama beer. The other beer you can get is bottled called […] Sands Light. Reminds me of an Ultra. If you are at the bar either in the lobby or at the pool, make sure you specify Absolut vodka or Bacardi Rum or you will get cheap stuff. Bartenders are quick and helpful. A lot of beach vendors. You can get a couple Cubans for $20 so don't pay more! They also sell a variety of wraps for the wives and will braid hair as well. Beach is dirty as far as trash but that falls on the traveler too. A lot of cups and straws. It's unfortunate that people couldn't clean up after themselves. Water is gorgeous and warm, even in December. Buffet dining was fantastic. Get there early for best selection. We had everything from roast lamb, roast beef and whole roasting pig to conch stew, pizza and hotdogs! Selection is HUGE. We didn't want to bring pants so we didn't try any of the specialty restaurants. Sports bar was nice. FOX Sports is only in Espanol. Nachos available all day long along with burgers and hot dogs. Convenience store was okay. Cigars a little pricey. But they'll cut it for you since you can't bring cutters on plane! Didn't try spa services. Will go back Další informace

The service and food were phenomenal. The food servers were accommodating with getting alcohol beverages to go with our meals even at the buffet. Wine was served with every meal (even at buffet). It is not the 5 star Atlantis but I guarantee I spent A LOT less money on my 5 day vacation and utlized the Atantis facilities just as much for free. So here are my thoughts on this hotel: 1. While the Atlantis is one of the most beautiful, elaborate hotels - I was able to enjoy all of the amentities while staying right next store.
