Swissotel Berlin – Berlín

Of course, when you're talking about Berlin, it's all about location—east or west? Seriously, I needed a short-notice hotel close to Kurfürstendamm, and this was my choice with little research. So I was happy to learn upon arrival that it's an impeccably-maintained hotel, with well-designed and very comfortable rooms. I was in and out of the hotel, […] busy with my visit, so I didn't have much interaction with the staff. But the front desk personnel were friendly and efficient, and the restaurant breakfast staff was similarly behaved (and the food was great!). Swissotel was not a hotel chain on my mental list of travel possibilities, but it is now. The on-line price was moderate and reasonable, even for the cancelable rate. If you're staying anywhere near Kudamm, Swissotel should be one of your options. Další informace

The staff was ever so friendly and helpful. The room was nice; everything was just as expected for the most part. They extended my check-out for me AND let me check in early which was a lifesaver. The only downside was that Berlin is a very large city and it takes quite a bit of time to get from A to B if your destination is not directly in your neighborhood. […] All of the museums and memorials, flea markets, etc that I wanted to see were too far from the hotel to walk on foot unless you were flush with time (i.e. average time was between a 40-60 min walk, while others were closer to 2hrs walking). I don't think that the hotel is badly located necessarily, just better to plan ahead I suppose and make sure to choose one specifically near to the places you would like to visit. The area around the Swisshotel seemed near a lot of shopping mall type places... very commercial. If it's near where your interests or engagements are, then I would certainly recommend it. Quite possibly the friendliest and most helpful hotel staff I've ever encountered. Hotel was very clean. Very close to KaDeWe and Berlin Zoo and easily accessible by S and U Bahn. They offer free 30 minute internet in the lobby. The mattress was more firm than what other 5 star hotels offer, but overall a wonderful hotel.

Really loved this hotel. The service we received was impeccable. The location was fabulous, very near the S bahn and the U bahn. My only complaint is that the pillows were a little lacking.

The staff could not have been more helpful and did everything with great efficiency and a smile. Do ask the concierge if you want any information about how to get around or where to go. Room was quiet & comfortable. One of the few bathrooms that was absolutely spotless with no mold or mildew anywhere (an unfortunate rarity in most hotels, espc. grouted areas). Only downside is that the breakfast is very overpriced. We were unable to figure out the pod coffee maker in the room.....not sure if it was us or the machine.

like everything swiss, the hotel is neat, efficient and very service oriented. due to travel schedule change, we extended our stay, but hotel was busy and could not give us as good a rate as our booking. (50% higher, though we like the hotel and feel it's worth it..) we will stay again.

We arrived early but our room was ready and the reception staff made sure that we understood the workings of the lift system and the location of the room. This is the 5th German hotel I've stayed in, the 4th in the major city. It's located on a quiet street just off one of the main shopping streets in the old West part of Berlin. Getting to the hotel from the airport is easy because it's only about 5 mins walk from the Zoo subway station (Zoologischer Garten). Unlike the entrance to the hotel and reception, which are both exceptional, the rooms are more functional. The staff were very helpful and even arranged a taxi for us at short notice at 5 am in the morning so we could get to the airport. The Swissotel is a fantastic place to stay in Berlin. Our room was modern, spacious (although the bed was a little hard) and very clean. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. We had not been to Berlin before so we were relying on the Expedia reviews to select a hotel and the Swissotel did not disappoint. We soon realized that it's situated […] in a great location. Lots of nice restaurants in the area, great shopping and close to Zoo station which connects you with all the main tourists sites. Good location and convenient for transport to other parts of Berlin. Room was a good size, and had good facilities, bath and shower, and Nespresso coffe maker and coffee sachets. I'm a tough critic when it comes to giving a rating of 1 or 5, but I was completely blown away by the Swissotel. The customer reviews on Expedia really sold me on choosing this hotel and they were dead on. The concierge is extremely polite and welcoming. The overall look, feel, and atmosphere are fantastic. The modern rooms are spacious, clean, and […] pleasant. Basically the moment you walk into the place, it makes you just feel great! There's a big lounge in the lobby for wireless computer use, as well as two other computers for visitor use. Two bars (didn't use them so I have no review on that). Sauna room, massage room, and 24-hour workout room with some weightlifting and cardio machines (didn't notice any free weights though). Comfortable bed, very thin pillows (but there is literally a pillow menu on the table if you want to change them out), no noise issues (my room was away from the street), laundry service (extra cost), 32" TV. Even once you check out, Swissotel is willing to watch your bags for the afternoon so you can venture some more in Berlin if you'd like! Great location, right next to Ku-damm and the U9/U1 station. Zoologischer Garten station is also only 3 blocks away for more train access. I learned the hard way though - DO NOT TAKE U3 TO AUGSBURGERSTRASSE STATION - the hotel & station are on opposite ends of this street! You're definitely not going to go wrong if you book this hotel.
