Rembrandtplein Hotel – Amsterdam

Read reviews prior to stay, so wasn't really surprised with the hotel - the reviews are spot on! The hotel is very basic, in a bit bad condition, but in excellent proximity to the main attractions of the city and a good rate compared to other hotels in the city. Breakfast is basic.

I loved the location of the hotel. It is in the middle of everything. Quiet neighborhood, and lots of activities within 5 mins of walking. However, beware of the condition of the hotel! It is old, dirty, worn, and desperately needing renovation. Beds are comfortable. Towels are old, and torn. Bathrooms are in horrible condition. No shampoo, no conditioner! […] Stay here if you are planning to be drunk the whole time, and need a place to crash. Otherwise, double up your spending and find a place worth your money! The hotel room had lots of mirrors, wasn't particularly clean, was a bit too warm, had no fridge. However, the bed was comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet so you get a good nights sleep. And thats all you need right? Well worth the price. Breakfast 8-11 includeed juice, coffee, bread, scrambled eggs. Free Wi-fi Internet worked only in the reception. […] Friendly staff! The location is remarkable - 5 min walk to main shopping street, red light district, coffee shops, nice restaurants and bars. About 15 min walk to central station, 25 min to the big park. Pretty neighborhood with canals, nice buildings etc. I recommend it to anyone on a budget who want to be near everything, but isn't too picky about a little dust in the corners... The hotel was fine for a 2 star and the location is pritty, however when we arrived they did not have the 2 rooms that we books, and I had to share a 4 person room with my colleague. This was not what was expected!

The accomodations were not superior by any means. However, they were adequate. The twin beds were simple, not much padding. But they did provide enough blankets and such. The stairwell was pretty steep to get up to the upper floors (No Elevator!). The view from the room was fantastic overlooking a lovely canal street. The location is excellent. Only […] one street over from the beginnings of lots of shopping areas and stuff to do. Very close to the center of activities and such. But also, at night, the stree was very quiet and calm. GREAT LOCATION. Our party decided that although the rooms were not the most luxurious, the location was so good, and you really dont want to spend your time in the room while you are visiting this great city. We booked this Hotel based on thier own description. Wrong wrong and wrong of us. The two young men working twelve hour shifts as jacks of all trades were superb, and the cleaning girl worked herself silly, but no amount of work by these three could possibly salvage this hotel. The floors looked filthy, the carpets and walls were beyond salvage and […] the continued refrain was"but it's an old hotel". It was at least a thirtyfive minute walk to Central station, the other areas just as far. After staying in many two star facilities before and since- this place was a certain no star hotel. The cost was far above what other hotels charged for a far better quality of service as well as location. They would not work with us on price, and it took until seven or eight in the evening to beg clean towels from the staff as there were no clean linens. We will not even discuss what passed as a shower.. Our "view" was of a closed in alleywat strewn with garbage and plastic tarps drapped off roofs to funnel rain water. Very loud during the night. Great location, hotel a bit run down, we had to wait while they cleaned it on check in and it looked like they hadnt cleaned it, beer bottle caps in the corners, made in china shoe decals on the wall paper. However it is a good location, and it is relatively cheap, next time i will pay a bit more for a nicer place, rubbish breakfast too!!

The room was at the 5th floor with no elevator but very steep stairs. The room was absolutely unacceptable by any standarts: carpet was dirty, beds very soft and uncomfortable, ceiling with mold stickers and some kind of device in place of the lamp wrapped in paper. Having read a few awful reviews of the Rembrandtplein I was actually pleasantly surprised! Whilst I wouldn't recommend this to anybody who is looking for any hints of luxury (the bathroom was a sort of tiled wetroom built into a corner of the room, the bed sheets didn't exactly fit and there was no lift - just a steep winding staircase up to the fifth […] floor), the Rembrantplein is perfect for the less discerning guest. All we really wanted during our stay was somewhere to sleep and grab breakfast before heading out all day, and this hotel was perfect for that. The Rembrandtplein’s main flaw is just that it's a bit on the shabby side. However, the position is brilliant, on one of the prettiest streets that we came across, and within easy walking distance of all the main attractions. There are also some really nice bars and cafes just along the street. Overall, I would be very happy to go back, but would be wary of recommending it to anyone looking for something a bit more special. Další informace

Good location. Terribly maintained hotel. Mold in the bathroom. Room smelled. Sheets smelled. This was end November but I didn't feel like using the sheets. No soap in bathroom. Single towel was provided at check-in time. Avoid this place....

Used to stay a lot there in the 90ties. Now in terrible condition. Cables hanging out from the walls, cracked WC, dirty. On check-in you get a towel and a soap, feels like you're going to jail.

For the price very good, was a little disapointed with the provided breakfast but atleast I could help myself to as much ham slices and bread as I wanted. I had a hole in my window and as it was raining the 1st night I spent there I found the noise of water dripping and the cold made if more difficult to fall to sleep. This combined with the funny smell […] in my room put me off the hotel a bit. Great location though, secure, friendly and helpful staff. Customers should be prepared for a very, very small room. Unique but fun hotel.

The room left a lot to be desired. A constant bad smell permeated the room from the shower

The hotel rate was very inexpensive and I suppose you get what you pay for to a degree. However, the room was extremely dirty and there was mold on the shower curtain. It did have cable TV and a good location (however, it's impossible to have a bad location in Amsterdam). Positives: Excellent location, quiet & safe neighborhood. All of the sites are within walking distance of hotel. Negatives: No A/C, Not good during record high temperatures in July. No Elevator. The shower floods the bathroom floor evrytime you take a shower because there is no ridge to stop the water from flowing towards the toilet and sink.

Well were should i start, far form everything no public transportation near by, the hotel is dark. Be ready for some of the most steep stair i have ever seen. our room was on 5 th fl. no elevator, the room was dirty. the bathroom small i was afraid to touch towels or take a shower. Hotellet bar præg af at det var slidt og outdatet. Værelserne var meget små med mange spejle, og vi syntes som damer at 3 håndklæder i ministørrelse måske ikke rakte til et bad. Personalet på hotellet var søde og hjælpsomme og den genelle placering i Amsterdam var perfekt i forhold til sporvogne, metro og seværdigheder.

Det er et hotel af meget ringe kvalitet, feks. var regøringen meget ringe og var kun 2 megt små hådklæder med huller i til et dobbelt værelse.Vi boede på 4. sal med udsigt til et andet værelse og med panserede vinduer. Kan være i tvivl om hvad der kunne ske i tilfælde af brand idet man ikke ville kunne komme ud af vinduet og kun en trappe og da huset […] er gammelt vil der hurtigt kunne opstå en voldsom brand.´Vi vil ikke anbefale hotellet til nogen Další informace

MKT dåligt hotel i alla avseenden

Hotellet er veldig enkelt. Ligger i svært rolig strøk. Lydt mellom rommene. Bratte trapper opp. Enkel frokost. Svært enkel standard på rommet, men vi var ikke i Amsterdam for å være på hotellet. Sov godt. Veldig sentralt. Vanskelig å finne hotellet hvis du ikke er kjent i sentrum. Vil likevel anbefale det hvis du ikke er ei kresen pingle.

Da vi ankom, kunne receptionisten ikke finde vores reservation i systemet og kikkede blot opgivende på os. Langt om længe fandt han os. Derefter blev vi opkrævet "city-tax". Det havde vi ikke set noget sted, at vi skulle, men senere bekræftede andre dette. Vi var fire plus to, der havde bestilt to fire-sengsværelser, fordi der iflg. hjemmesiden ikke […] var andre værelser ledige. Da vi fik værelserne anvist, var det ene et dobbeltværelse (dvs. sådan et havde man altså). Det gav dog ingen prisnedsættelse. Værelserne var under al kritik. Gulvtæpperne var møgbeskidte, badeværelset lugtede muggent og var ikke særlig lækkert. Der var altid varmt vand. Rengøring hver dag - men det hjalp ikke på det generelle værelsesindtryk. Beliggenheden var perfekt. I en stille kanalgade meget tæt på det pulserende liv i centrum, kun forstyrret af højrystede danskere, der kom hjem midt om natten og syntes, at alle skulle være vågne en time derefter. Morgenmad (selvbetjening) bestod af kaffe/te/juice, sandwichbrød (kunne ristes), ost, skinke, marmelade og røræg. Det samme hver dag, men det var udmærket. Hvis man kan leve med en dårlig værelsesstandard, er dette hotelvalg acceptabelt. Vi kørte dertil og benyttede Park and Ride. Pas på at få den rigtige pris. Personalet er slet ikke hjælpsomt og vi endte med at betale en underlig overpris uden at nogen kunne forklare os hvorfor. Køretid fra nordsjælland 8-9 timer (ingen kø). Další informace

Hotellet er ikke særlig rent og personalet virker irriterede over henvendelser vedr. dette. Det er dog et hyggeligt og centralt beliggende hotel, hvorfra der ikke er ret langt til forskellige seværdigheder.

Vel ankommet til Amsterdam bliver vi mødt af uinteresseret personale, som knapt gider kigge op og hilse. Ingen hjælp til parkering og ingen information om noget som helst. På værelset (hvor de på ca. 12 m2 har stuvet 4 senge ind) bliver vi mødt af ca. 35 graders varme og en radiator, der ikke kan reguleres. 1 cm støv overalt og ulækre plettede gulvtæpper […] og tæpper til at sove i. Det er totalt nedslidt og usselt. Altanen flyder med urin, cigaretskodder og jointsrør. Der findes ingen håndklæder, intet sæbe og Tv' et virker ikke. Ved klage over varmen får vi at vide, at vi kun skal være glade, for om natten bliver det koldt! Jeg spørger 5 gange, om der er mulighed for et andet værelse, men bliver totalt ignoreret. Senere kommer portieren dog op og undskylder. Der findes gode værelser, siger han, men de ligger på den anden side af hotellet! Det værelse som vi har fået, bliver normalt kun brugt til unge fyre, som kommer for at ryge, oplyser han. Vi er så to voksne og to børn! Da jeg efterlyser en røgalarm og en flugtvej i tilfælde af brand, da vi bor i hotellets aller øverste værelse, får vi at vide, at man kan springe over på et nærliggende tag. Der er så to meter derover og omtalte tag er så spidst, at man skal være utrolig præcis, hvis man skal kaste sig derover og hænge fast, mens hotellet brænder ned. Fra nævnte tag var der ingen flugtvej. Da vi så endelig bliver hørt, får vi tilbud om, at der dagen efter vil være et nyt værelse til os. Vi er selvfølgelig nødt til at acceptere vores skæbne og afventer spændt. Dagen efter er stemningen helt anderledes og folk er pludselig venlige og hjælpsomme, men da er ejeren pludselig til stede. Vi flytter til et nyt og meget bedre værelse med udsigt ned over kanalerne, som annoncen også antyder, at man vil have. Her bliver vi langt bedre tilfredse, dog stadig uden at værelset er rengjort, ej heller forefindes der håndklæder, toiletpapir eller sæbe. Vi ender med at have en dejlig ferie, og vi er ikke spor kræsne. Det siger også si Další informace

Bem localizado, porém muito antigo e sem conforto....tem muito cheiro de mofo é meio escuro. Os funcionários são muito educados e atenciosos.

Hele armoedige kamer, schrok zelfs een beetje toen ik de kamer binnen kwam, verroest balkon vol met peuken. Dikke laag stof op de tv en op het rooster in de badkamer echt heel vies. Geen enkele ster waard. Niet duur maar niks maar dan heb je ook niks.

Vi boede på et dobbeltværelse, hvor der var lidt koldt, men ellers helt i orden. Generelt er standarden hvad der svarer til et 2-stjernet hotel. Vi synes at det er tilfredsstillende til prisen. Placeringen er super og personalet venligt. Morgenmaden er ok, håndklæderne er små og området er roligt. Hvis du ikke forventer luksus, så får du en god oplevelse […] på hotellet. Další informace

Rembrandtplein Hotel ligger ned til en kanal i centrum af byen og gaden er stille og hyggelig. Hotellets storhedstid ligger langt tilbage - fine tapeter og gulvtæpper trænger til udskiftning nu - enkeltglasvinduerne i hotellet gør det lidt koldt. Men vi befandt os rigtig godt alligevel, med hotellet som godt udgangspunkt for at opleve Amsterdam by. […] 4 personers familierum: stort med 3 store vinduer ud til kanalen, eget badevær. Morgenbuffet: simpel (toastbrød, skinke, røræg,marmelade, juice, kaffe og the) men i lokaler med hvide duge, blomster og klassisk musik. Venligt personale. Další informace

Hotel posizionato in zona centrale ma tranquilla, davanti a un canale. Camera al 4° piano, 51 gradini ripidissimi, tutto in moquette sporca. La finestra della camera apribile in modalità vasistas con vista su muri interni dello stesso hotel che formavano un cortiletto senza via d'uscita. In caso di incendio non avremmo avuto alcuna possibilità di scampo. […] Costretta a dormire in letto matrimoniale con mio figlio invece che in letti separati come da prenotazione. Bagno non dotato di asciugamani con insetti sul pavimento piastrellato non classificati. La camera così sporca da non poter togliere i i vestiti e la biancheria dalla valigia. Ei vastannut todellisuudessa netin antamaa mainoskuvaa. Huoneet ja kylpyhuoneet todella pienet ja alkeelliset sekä vanhanaikaiset. Hotellin henkilökunnasta suurin osa todella ammattitaidottomia, jopa töykeitä ja asiattomia. Ei minkäänlaista palvelua tai asiakaspalvelutaitoja. Det første resepsjonisten sa da vi kom, var at vi måtte betale en skatt på 5% ekstra. Dette harmonerte SVÆRT dårlig med med informasjonen fra Hotels.com i bestillingsbekreftelsen der det het: "Reservasjonen er nå bekreftet og er betalt fullt ut" og "Hotel.com har belastet kortet ditt med full betaling for denne reservasjonen." Dette er den typen hotell der du sjekker rommet for rotter og kakerlakker, og hører krafselyder når du har lagt deg. Ufyselig. Kan ikke ha vært pusset opp siden krigen, flekkete, sprekker overalt, tykke gulvtepper som er i ferd med å løsne på noen av veggene. Ja du leste riktig: veggene. Sur røyklukt på det røykfrie rommet.
