"Faded glory"
We were booked in a supreme de-luxe room which was more expensive and less comfortable than the superior room we last stayed in. The front desk explained that we were paying extra for the "atmosphere" of the room! It beats me. "classical and classy"
The actual hotel is beautiful and it has an old world charm. The staff were very friendly and helpful but we did book a tour and some of the information we were given was incorrect so maybe a bit of training is needed in some places. The room was beautiful but the bathroom was a little on the small side. We ate in the Italian restaurant (had tapas) […] and it was delicious. "The perfect place for relaxation and business"
I was attending a seminar in the hotel that week and I realised that the hotel was more than a place for business occasion buy full of comfort and friendliness. The food was great and the staffs were also very friendly. It is located almost very near to all the hot spots of Jakarta and I felt very safe when I was there. "Hotel Borobudur Jakarta - Far from a 5 Star"
I probably would not have been so disappointed with my stay at Hotel Borobudur Jakarta had my expectations not been set for a 5 star hotel. I have stayed in 3.5 star hotels that were better maintained and serviced. Paint peeling, air-conditioning vent blackened with mold, ironing board cover burned and mutilated (I wouldn't touch my shirts to it), […] bathroom tile grout chipping and full of dirt/ or mold, bathroom door only half-opens before hitting toilet bowl, window sills dirty, and other minor maintenance short-comings. The people who served guests seemed genuinely kind and eager to help, but it was obvious that they lacked proper training, organization and leadership. The grounds, lobby, dining hall, lounge and gardens- in contrast to the condition of the room I stayed in- were very nice. They are grand, well designed and properly maintained. Staff running these common areas however, once again, seemed eager to serve but absolutely lost and unorganized. They were not rude as most smiled and greeted us at every opportunity, but getting service we asked for, or an answer to a simple question, or even a warm cup of tea was always a challenge. The rooms are decent, nothing to shout about...but given the price, fair value for Jakarta. Location is ok for business in the financial area, short cab rides to everything, but nothing within walking distance, so be prepared to pay 4/5 star prices for every little thing from coffee to snacks to bottled water, and all meals, becuase you can't just […] hop across the street and pay local prices. The hotel was quite full when I was there and looks like all the guests had breakfast included, so the staff were very busy and they had trouble keeping up with refilling the buffet, clearing the tables, etc. at times, entire trays were picked clean at the same time...and you had to come back later to get food. I had a working breakfast at 8am as well as a leasiurely breakfast at 9.30am, this was true for both meals I was there. Dinner was much less crowded, and therefore attention to details were better. 마주칠 때 마다 상냥한 웃음을 보여주는 친절한 종업원들이 인상적이었으며,호텔내의 식당도 비교적 만족할만한 수준이었다.욕실관리도 훌륭했고,청결유지도 만족할만 했다.철저한 보안유지 때문에 출입시 다소 번거로운 점은 있었지만 자카르타의 여타 호텔들도 그 점은 마찬가지라서 불만을 가질 이유는 없다고본다.시내중심가와 가까워서 교통상황은 만족스럽지 못했지만,자카르타 어디를 가도 교통상황은 정말 예측불허의 엉망진창,뒤죽박죽이다.
