Location.
The palatial Hotel Ritz Madrid is located in the centre of historic Madrid, Spain, opposite the renowned Prado Museum, between La Lealtad Square's magnolia trees and Neptune's Fountain. The Thyssen- Bornemisza Museum, stock exchange and popular Retiro Park are within 300 metres.
Hotel Features.
Built in 1910 by King Alfonso Xlll as a grand luxury hotel to match Europe's finest, the Hotel Ritz Madrid occupies a six-storey building with French windows and balconies. The large marble-floored lobby has pillars, high ceilings, chandeliers and handmade carpets.
A piano player accompanies afternoon tea and scones in the lobby lounge and bar. Goya Restaurant has chandeliers, fabric-covered walls and high draped curtains and serves international and Spanish dishes. Guests and locals can drink and dine in the Ritz Terrace and Gardens during spring and summer. The bimonthly Ritz Gastronomic Weeks present Spanish regional cuisine in association with famous restaurateurs. Cocktails and snacks are on the menu in the intimate wood-panelled Velazquez Bar.
The Hotel Ritz Madrid's five meeting rooms hold up to 500 people. The business centre offers high-speed Internet access (surcharge). Wireless Internet access (surcharge) and onsite parking are available at the hotel.
The hotel has saunas and a fitness centre. Massages and beauty treatments like algae-based facials and manicures are available (surcharge). Previous clients at the hair salon and barber include the Spanish royal family.

Goya Restaurant - Informally-dressed guests will be handed a jacket by staff to fit in with the regal atmosphere of this 570-metre high restaurant overlooking the Stock Exchange, with tear drop chandeliers, large draped windows, silver patterned fabric walls, and silver service. Although international cuisine does feature, Spanish specialties are always on the lunch and dinner à la carte menu. Cocido Madrileno (chickpeas, chicken, vegetable, beef and pork stew) is served every Tuesday and Thursday. Although the menu changes daily, Paella is always available on request.
Velazquez Bar - Cocktails and snacks are served in a relaxed atmosphere in this intimate, wood-paneled bar.
Lobby - Snacks and drinks are served all day but afternoon tea and scones with homemade jam and clotted cream accompanied by live piano music at the Ritz is, for some, as important as a trip to the Prado Museum. The setting is a huge room with two crimson handmade carpets, scattered with sofas and armchairs in maroon, caramel, blue, and green. A white marble statue is set in a scarlet alcove. Large plants attempt to reach the gilded high ceiling but don't quite make it.
Ritz Garden - In spring and summer, snacks, drinks, and à la carte dining from the adjacent Goya restaurant kitchens is served on the terrace garden, with sculptures, pond, and shade to protect from the heat of the sun. Afternoon tea moves from the Lobby to this prime spot, along with live piano music. There is space for 400 people.

Next to the broad, tree-lined Paseo del Prado, the new extension at the world-class Prado museum is an architectural triumph. The well laid-out Botanical Gardens opposite the entrance are worth a wander and behind them lies Madrid’s green sanctuary, the Retiro park. Boat on the lake, stroll through the fragrant rose garden, and watch the terrapins sunbathe by the delicate Palacio de Cristal.

"If you love antique feel"
We stayed 5 days at the hotel, love the location, secluded yet central. We got a room overlooking Museum Prado, Goya statue and the church which was great. The concierge got us skip line tickets..really awesome. The size of the room is decent for Europe with the tall window. The downside was the room temperature; we got there close to Spring which was […] nice temperature in the morning and night but during the day was really hot. The hotel rep said they do not turn on the air conditioning till Spring; quite unexpected to hear. They brought us a fan instead. The bed sheet are not soft, neither the tissue and toilet paper. "Ritz Madrid- Best Hotel in Town"
Great service, beautiful hotel and right in the middle of all the museums. No bus, no taxi, no fuss. Food and drink prices are high but, to be expected. And, there is a Starbucks across the Plaza.

Centrally located with access to the pardo and many other attractions nearby. Rooms and hotel staff very accomodating. I would stay there again.

"Old and musty"
This was supposed to be a 5* hotel, and may have been at one point, but the whole hotel reeks of mustiness. The carpets are 25 years old -- we saw the date stitched into them -- and desperately need to be replaced. When my son jumped onto the bed dust flew everywhere. We were very displeased.

This is an awesome hotel, great locatoin. Very good for the price. Service, hotel staff very courteous. The room service staff not good with spoken english. Need spanish to communicate with them. The conscierge was excellent. The carpets in the room were old, need new ones, although my wife thought they gave the place character and did not mind them, […] I would have liked to see new carpets. The room very spacious, first hotel we have seen with multiple closts in the room, almost walk in sized. Right across from predo museum, the location was excellent, walking distance to all sites one needs to visit (we like to walk though). Highly recommend. Další informace

４泊しましたが、流石に名門ホテルでロビーやレストランの豪華さ、お部屋に届けられるお茶や果物などにも満足。 フロントもコンシエルジュも大変親切丁寧で本当に助かりました。 お部屋自体は余り大きくありませんし、バスルームは少し面白い位置関係でしたが、とにかくホスピタリティと言う点で一流でした。

Em frente ao Museu do Prado, pertinho do Retiro, pertinho de tudo, o Ritz é a melhor localização de Madri, embora os quartos estejam velhinhos, mantém seu charme clássico.

1泊めの翌朝チップを忘れていたら、前日に使ったコップが洗われていなかったし、トレイの上のペーパーも汚れたままのものが3泊つづいた。 2泊目からはチップを置いたが、３泊目帰ってきてからは、コップの種類がワイングラスのみであったり、洗面台の花はしおれてもそのままであったりで、チップがすくなかったからか、このようなことは初めてだったので、大変びっくりした。 アメニティ部分が広くて暖房が利かず入浴後に寒い思いをした。 トレドまで朝早く出かけようとして、ユーロの残金が少なくなり、リッツで換金を尋ねたが、していないとのこと。非常に困ってしまった。結局かなり歩いて、ドイツ銀行のATMをつかえたがこんなことある？と思わらざるをえなかった。 朝早くからの市外への観光で、10時過ぎに帰宅の素泊まり状態で3泊 […] したからか、以上のような理由でリッツの良さを自覚できなかった。 Další informace
