The room was nice. The front desk staff were friendly & helpful. And it was a short walk to the beach, restaurants, shops, art deco buildings, & so on.

Good stay. Very close to excitement on South Beach. Close to Mango's! I love that place. Overall it was a pretty good stay. Only complaint: no parking. We paid $80 for the car to sit in a parking lot next door. The parking lot didn't offer any deals for guests at the adjacent hotel, which kinda sucked...

Although the hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Miami beach, the hotel itself leaves a lot to desire. Staff seems to be careless unless they see dollars flying to them. Many times we went to the front desk to ask for help they seemed to be gone and there was no one to assist us. Many times other hotel guests who were seating at the small […] lobby area guided us throughout the stay. The room itself doesn't seem to be fully equipped. There was no toothpaste, or mouthwash, or even q-tips available and when the front desk was asked for such items the answer was no. Lol! Pitiful! The front desk agent Jose who works overnight was very helpful and nice...he made up for the shortcomings of the hotel, but the other front desk agent was more interested in the cash as I previously stated before. I remember at some point he even told me "I only speak to my friend CASH to be able to help you" that's an embarrassing thing to say or do. Anyway, I wouldn't come back to the hotel and the reason would be the customer service I experienced which I have never experienced before in my life. Další informace

Many occupants smoked marijuaina and the front desk joked about it when it was complained about. The shower water never got hot the entire weekend. People were running through the hallway late at night making lots of noise and nothing was done to calm the madness.

I understand that I was in South Beach during an extremely busy holiday weekend- Memorial Day, yet the condition of my room and attention from staff was unacceptable. Lastly, when I asked to speak to a manager, I was told he would be there on Saturday morning. It has been fours days since my departure and I still have not spoken to anyone. We stayed at the Kent for one night before we left for a cruise. The hotel is just a few blocks up from the Collins Shopping District, and one block from the beach. Then this hotel is great, you are close to all the action on south beach without having all the noise at night. The room we had was nice on first glance but a bit dirty when you looked and the air con stopped working. If you are in town for a night maybe two then its good value but nothing more.

Service was horrible. The clerk was more interested in trying to pick up the woman checking in to the hotel before us. After about 10 minutes of standing in the line, with the female guests nearly checked in when I arrived, I was getting tired of hearing his pick up lines and the banter back and forth and while it was apparent I was getting tired of […] it, it didn't seem to matter to the clerk. Suprisingly, being a male, my process lasted less than five minutes. While I understand that everything is old in Miami, the decor seemed to be half-heartidly done and wasn't done well to keep up with the times. The beds need to be changed....I have a bad back and the sinking into the matress didn't help. As for the cleanliness, no complaints at all and it is a good location to walk to nearly everything. There are no clocks in the room, nor a local clock in the lobby (weird right?!) so bring your own alarm clock or watch. I visit Miami at least once a year and every time I stay at a different hotel. I've stayed in lush, expensive hotels and some not so good ones as well. I will say that this is a perfect middle ground. The price was within our budget and the location is awesome! The housekeeping was attentive and even helped dry our wet bathing suits. The hotel itself is a little older and the elevator is small but that is to be expected with any SoBe hotel since the city itself is old but the decor is very modern, sleek and bright. I will return to this hotel for sure. Outside of the super expensive hotels, this was the friendliest, and cleanest hotel and EVERYTHING we needed was within walking distance. Superb hotel, from to 30s 40s era, with great style. I was upgraded to the Orchid Suiite by the friendly reception staff - superb stay - 60" flat screen, sound system and other cool features. Would definitely stay here again.

Location and price were good. Older building, as are many on Collins Ave. You could hear the outside noise but it is a decent enough if you aren't expecting too much and just want an affordable place to stay while partying in SoBeach.

My husband and I came for a 2 night get-a-way. It was perfect for this in terms of location. 2 blocks from the beach and close to lots of great restaurants. The hotel is walking distance to all the happening places near south beach. The hotel itself is clean for the most part but has very small rooms with tiny bathrooms. The staff is generally pleasant and helpful. Check in time is 4pm (which is pretty late in my opinion).

Despite being a little rough around the edges (note the elevator doors that bang closed), this hotel perfectly served our needs for 2 days. It was clean, reasonably comfortable, and VERY convenient. Good value for South Beach.

For a 3 star hotel, this is the best bang for your buck in South Beach. Decent rooms, centrally located, and under $200/night. I've stayed everywhere but now prefer The Kent.

The location is good. The room is clean, but overall it's just ok. The bathroom is small. The AC unit is very loud. You can hear people walking and talking on the hallway. The price you pay for is for the location, not for the quality of the hotel.

The Kent is located in the Art Deco area with that South Beach charm. The room and hotel are older and need a bit of updating. The rooms were clean but very basic. But that is all we required for a one night stay before our cruise. The beach is just one block from hotel and there is great shopping and restaurants surrounding.

The hotel staff were very friendly and the location is convenient. My only complaint is about the valet service that the hotel uses. I let them park my rental car the night I checked in and did not drive it again until I checked out. I walked everywhere that I needed to go. On my way to Orlando, I stopped to get gas and found a parking citation for […] my car wadded up in the pocket on the door! No one bothered to mention it and NO ONE WILL CALL ME BACK. I was under the impression that the car was to be parked on a private lot. Hmm. Something is wrong with this picture. I'm just glad I found it so I could pay it. Overall, the Kent was exactly what I had pictured it would be from reading other reviews. Myself and my girlfriend booked the Kent for 1 night before we left for a cruise out of Miami. We had an early flight and arrived at 12:30 pm. The employees at the desk were very helpful and let us leave our bags in a locked closet until our room was ready at 4pm. […] We ended up getting a room around 3:30 which was room 110. When we arrived we were actually happy with how clean it felt and the bed was nice with clean sheets, nice floor, clean bathroom and such. I attempted to open the shades in the room and realized why they were closed. It was a horrible view of a dirty alley and buildings with a garbage truck that arrives pretty early. (Not the end of the world) The bathroom is small and water pressure was weak. When it came time to leave the desk staff called a cab for us and was waiting for us when we had to leave at check out. Overall, we felt safe, comfortable and staff was friendly and helpful to us who had never been to Miami. You get what you pay for and I would recommend to anyone staying overnight or for a quick, cheap getaway. It's a block from the beach with a lot of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Pros: Staff was friendly, room was clean, and hotel was very conveniently located Cons: Almost no amenities, poolside bar/restaurant is no longer open, and you can hear everything out in the hallways when you're in your room.
