From the time we drove in to the time we checked out , very impressive service.

STAYED IN THE NIKKO FLOOR (ABOVE 22/F). NICE VIEW - CAN WATCH SUNSET. BIG AND CLEAN ROOM. BUFFET (INCLUSIVE) IS NICE (ESP THE JAPANESE-STYLE BREAKFAST) AND FRUIT ARE FRESH. INTERNET ACCESS (INCLUSIVE) IS GOOD AND HIGH-SPEED. ALL STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY. LOCATION CAN'T BE MORE CONVENIENT. Cannot fault our stay at this hotel. Stayed 17th Dec 2011 to 22nd Dec. The location was fantastic - just around the corner from Union Square (which is a must location in the festive season). The room was wonderful in size and cleanliness. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Free warm apple cider on arrival at check in was very welcoming. The Xmas decorations […] were also festive, and added that special touch to our stay. Would stay at this hotel when next visiting San Fran again, and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Enjoyable stay, but do they really need to charge $20 extra just to use the pool? I have a 12 year old son, who really wanted to use the indoor pool so I paid the $20. The "deal" I had wasn't much of a deal after that.

Great facilities, location, location, location, and over all, outstanding service, specially by Rick at the Concierge.

We came into town (from a peninsula small city) to see Jack Jones' performance. The room was just OK. We WERE offered an upgrade if we bought a hotel breakfast the next morning. We already made other plans, so had to decline the offer. I'm really sorry we did. All in all, the hotel is beautiful, and the staff was great. Lovely rooms and great location. Would have been perfect if they offered free wifi and car parking was less expensive. Concierge was helpful and hotel was big and very nicely decorated. Fridge in room did not work but they quickly brought up a new one.

First visit to San Francisco and Hotel Nikko was an excellent location, near Union Square, lovely restaurants, and shopping opportunities. We had a good sized room on the 8th floor. We have stayed at the Nikko several times. The staff are excellent and the location near union square is also very nice. The breakfast buffet which includes both full Japanese and American choices is very good and was included with the price from hotel.com. This is one of the few hotels in town with a nice pool which is great for children. One point […] was the room was adequately cleaned when we first entered it. we called housekeeping and they came back. Spent my birthday at Hotel Nikko in San Francisco and couldn't have been more pleased. Its location, near Union Square in SF, allowed us to walk to shopping and dining. Although it is located on bustling Mason St., once through the doors I experienced a calm, zen-like feeling. My family stayed there recently during the holidays. The staff was great, rooms were very clean and the fitness center was large. The location was just one block from the center of Union Square!!

Great location close to Union Square. Originally booked a petite queen room but room was so small that I paid extra to upgrade. All rooms seemed to be quite small but the room was very well furnished with new modern furniture. My only other complaint was that there was often a long queue at the front desk, however, it was the Xmas/New Year holidays […] so perhaps this is not usual. Been to the Nikko before for dinner. It was a really nice stay once we got a better room. First room was real nice but small for what I was expecting. They moved us the second night and it was great for the next few days. Clean. Great view. Super comfy.

This is an average hotel. The rooms are so so, and the staff isn't overly helpful. I have stayed here twice out of convenience, and found it lacking both times. I wouldn't recommend it, especially with a couple of four star hotels within a block of Nikko.

Overall a great hotel and bargain. The location is within walking distance to tons of things and there are trains and trolleys close by to things that aren't. I stayed here for one night at the end of a month long trip as i wanted somewhere nice. Hotel was more than others but well worth it. Room was a nice size, with a very comfortable big bed that allowed a great nights sleep, bathrooms are large. Very nice, modern hotel 2 blocks from Union Square. Our 'superior' room was nicely decorated, though somewhat small - large enough for the king size bed, chair, desk+chair, but no room to get past the bed if someone was in the chair at the desk. Only complaint was the price to park at $51.30/day and high daily internet charge.

Everything OK and very convenent for downtown, but for the price I would say that the room is a little small and the decor a little tired. Having to pay extra for Internet access is quite an imposition in this day and age. Didn't eat/drink in the hotel so can't comment about these.

Wonderful hotel- great locatioin- one block to Union Square. There is a Starbucks in the hotel. Free newspapers. A health club and pool that is heated and indoors. We have stayed three times the last three years and will stay again next year for the Xmas holidays.

The location of this hotel is great. We were able to go shopping and have dinner just by walking a few blocks. The Conceirge was very helpful in getting reservations for dinner at popular restaurants. Also because there is a club where we can enjoy entertainment on the first floor, it was so wonderful! Plus the health club was great.

I had a Thanksgiving Holiday vacation with my family. My room was two beds and an extra bed for four people and room was clean and nice! I am sure I will come back to stay this Nikko Hotel in 2012.

We liked everything about Hotel Nikko. Highlights were: the well-equipped gym, the pool/hottub, reasonably priced upgrade and amenities that came with the upgrade, warm Japanese "culture", happy hour, simple continental breakfast as well as diverse buffet, friendly staff. We'll be back!

I booked this room over Veterns Day weekend and was surprised with the low rate I received. I expected some issue or problem with the booking or room, the rate or something but was very pleasantly surprised when the Hotel looked as nice as it did online, the room was comfortable and large but San Francisco standards and it was in a great location. The lobby and main areas are quite lovely. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to everything, but the rooms are really tired. Although clean, they are very boring and uninspiring. Definitely could use a remodel.

Hotel is in a great location, close to transport, food and shopping. Couple of minutes walk from the Powell st BART station (from SFO airport), union square and trams. very helpful front desk people, both in and out. Room was very nice, on the compact side ...no extra room for doing real desk work but we were there for leisure. The concierge was not good - he either was unclear or had wrong info (re parking discount - he said 50% off if we went to the Rrazz Room for the show which we did - but it was actually only […] $10 off the first 2 hours, and yet we spent $100 on drinks and food). Hotel Nikko was a very quiet and comfortable place for a long weekend in San Francisco. The health club was very well equipped with a good variety of machines. The restaurant gave this solo diner excellent service and the food was great. This hotel is very central positioned just 1 block from Union Square. The rooms are big and has all the comfort expected from a 4 Star hotel inclusive coffee making facilities in the room. Can only recommend this hotel.

Excellent location a block from Union Square; friendly; professional staff; spotlessly clean; terrific fitness center; internet worked without the usual hotel connection issues. Not a cheap hotel, but very competitive rates and more value per dollar than other premium hotels nearby.

We stayed at Hotel Nikko SF on the 10-13 August 2011. Our room was very spacious, clean & overall a good hotel, centrally located in the Union Square area.
