Room was clean and neat although the furnishings were dated. A little hard to find. It is still branded as a Ramada Inn and it is off-street about a block.

Drove around it for 30 min because it's signs still say Ramada. Found it when we finally stopped to ask them where the Magnuson was. Hotel was beautiful once upon a time, but was let run down badly. Our room was wonderful, clean and fully supplied with everything you could need. Bed was great. But, pool was green, restaurant was long closed, and back […] doors to main entrance were locked so you had to walk or drive all the way around to get to the front desk. Old hotel that needs a complete remodel. I was only there for a 8 hours to sleep. It was quite, but there were very few other guest.

Not horrible. It was an inexpensive place to crash. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, the room was clean albeit older and dated, but overall it's tolerable. It's not the Ritz but for about 1/2 of what the surrounding hotels were charging I consider it a good value.

This place is actually a Ramada Inn. This is the worst place I have ever stayed. I had a reservation for a king bed and sleeper sofa, what I got (after a confrontation with hotel management) was a king bed and roll a way bed. The room smelled like mold and mildew, which is a big deal for someone with allergies. There were two towels for three people […] to shower. Bathroom door would not shut. Magnuson has recently become a Ramada. Promised frig, microwave, and wi fi were not available. Hair dryer did not work. Staff brought a frig, microwave and new hair dryer. After four nights, wifi never became functional. New owners are trying hard, but are not there yet.

This is a very old hotel that is in need of some serious repairs - there were very large cracks in walls and ceiling, towel racks were ripped out of the wall, had to plug in lamps and even the phone. hotel was sighed as a ramada. tv was unplugged and remote did not work. at checkin clerk did not know i had paid thru hotels.com, she then quoted me the price hotels.com was paying which was significantly cheaper than what i paid.

There were no wash cloths in our room, but we go over that. The service was fantastic! The breakfast in the Veranda was awesome! We may come back to this hotel just for the food and service.

Customer Service NIGHTMARE! Upon checking in bugs in room, and outlook email would not send. Approached Manager to move rooms and fix email issue with ISP and he became extremely aggressive and offensive. Reservation was for 4 nights but checked out after a couple hours. Our stay was for 4 days while my brother was hospitalized at Medical Center for heart problems. The room was cleaned daily and very comfortable. the furniture needs updating and we had to ask twice for a microwave and fridge which was finally delivered and worked well. The staff was friendly, the room was nice and clean. The most comfortable bed ever. But the pool was closed due to the height of the fence. The fitness room was also closed during our visit. We were not happy about that.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! The hotel is a mold-covered. smelly mess. We stayed at this hotel due to it's proximity to the Zoo.The hotel is an older hotel with very nice grounds, and an excellent swimming pool which my kids love. We will definitely stay here again! Fat Catz restaurant next-door is very good too!

Considering the low cost of living in general in Tyler, it can be surprising how expensive a local hotel stay can be. Luckily there are a few exceptions in the area, such as the Ramada Inn. I've stayed at this hotel twice now and, with the exception of a couple minor items I've been satisfied with may stays. Our most recent stay was on May 19, 2010. […] My experience is that the rooms are modest but clean. The rooms facing the interior pool area seem to be better than those on the north side of the complex. The hotel is also pet friendly, which was a plus for us, and didn't charge us a pet fee...some other more expensive hotels in town may charge you up to $50. All in all, you shouldn't stay at this hotel if you expect a Hilton-level hotel with lots of upgrades and amenities, but if you are looking for a fair level of convenience and a good value no need to look further.
